Deer hunting got me involved in this. Though I'm a white man. I was eating a meal at a truck stop in Washington county IL. I sat down at the coffee bar and to my left was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She was Lakota, she was wearing a fringed leather jacket. Later on after hearing about the "White Calf Buffalo Woman , " I decided it wasn't her. After all she was driving a truck, but that question is still in limbo. She didn't like white people, but I didn't know that until I struck up a conversation. She asked me if I knew why she was called a Indian. I did. I told her that I like the Indigenous people. She ask me if I knew about Grandma Turtle. I didn't so she told me. I think she was in disbelief of me, and I was totally impressed with her. She was respectful she was kind even though I could tell she doubted me. The last thing she said before she left was, " If you want to get behind something, free Lenard Poitier. " I have contacted my Senator several times with no success. Maybe now that the Doctrine of discovery is gone maybe we should all try. Not just the Sioux , but all 500 tribes. The entity we are actually up against is the wealth of Rome. They understand large numbers! This would be good practice for a global federation of tribes if we all tried one more time. I just got done commenting on this. Free Lenard and free Assange.

Mercy for Leonard, he has been a fall guy for the criminal and illegal activity, including murder to get at the resources of the Black Hills, particularly the uranium they use for nuclear weapons and bombs to threaten the world with. Leonard has been a true warrior and held strong against this vicious system of exploration, expulsion, and expansionism. It is as cruel, evil and inhumane as anything that is being perpetrated in Palestine today. Leonard has paid with his life for the crimes they are too weak and privileged to ever stand trial for. He has rotted away in a cage far too long in a place he never belonged. He had the right to stand with the People and their right of self determination as well as full rights to the sovereignty of their lands. Release Leonard from these federal cages he has fulfilled the sentences they were to weak to stand trial and be convicted of. Give Leonard back the blue skies, the touch and smile of those of his family and friends. Let Leonard walk in any direction without walls, fences, or a shotgun aimed at his body. May Leonard walk with the wind, may it carry him home again.

As half Cherokee, I am80yo and appreciate this video. It is shameful that this government had and has tried to rid the world of native Americans. Those who want the the land are killers...and I am not referring to the Natives. I am sickened by these actions. There greedy people deserve the wrath of G_d.

If you go back to the Latin and take apart the name "Government," To Govern means "To restrain," Or to "Rule Over." "Ment" in Latin is the "Mind" and is the root of the English word "Mental." So Government literally means To Restrain the Mind, Or to Rule Over the Mind of its Citizens. Its very nature is largely negative and it takes on a life of its own, devouring everything in its way (Like the Tribes People of N. America) until it devours all it can devour, then it devours itself.

Leonard Peltier deserves a new trial. Fast forward to the present day: multi national corporations running pipelines through native nations’ lands for oil and gas profits without regard for environmental concerns, and using paramilitary tactics. It’s all connected. What an eye opening and powerful documentary. Thanks for sharing.

Your wrong about the gas and oil pipelines they're more concerned about the environment than people think and they treat the environment with kid gloves very careful and respectful of the environment and the tribes who's land the pipelines cross are paid extremely well for crossing native land and they hire native American people to work with and for them and pay them well so you're misinformed

I can't believe that Leonard is still in prison. He is a wronged man from a wronged people. I proudly wear a 'Leonard Peltier' t-shirt in England and I'm glad that many people know who he is and what he represents over here. It was and always has been about land and wealth. People seem more obsessed with financial wealth than spirituality and the well being of their fellow man.

Why is he still incarcerated when he's an elder of the tribe. Perhaps you need to go and look at the way the Natives of your so-called land are treated with disdain ans hatred. It seems like it was self defence to me. I heard about that battle. It was so shocking to me. That we can break treaties with the people that was blessed with the land. The government rounded the Indians up gave them land and has been taking it away from them ever since they gave it to them. Very sad. The treaties need to be left in place and they need to be allowed to have soviern status.

All of the Indians who were in the White Clay Creek encampment, on that morning, said that when they were all just waking up and making breakfast, they had scouted the area and immediately saw that they were completely surrounded by SWAT teams, SD State Police, FBI agents, BIA Police, and a platoon of local White ranchers. The Indians said they all feared for their lives and all fully expected to be massacred that day. It is believed, by most experts of this case, that Agents Coler and Williams were intentionally sent onto the Jumping Bull property in order to draw a warning shot from the AIM Indians, or to engage them in a shootout so that the cavalry could be "justified" in annihilating the AIM encampment.

Leonard is a great artist and even greater Indian leader , another injustice and no shame from the federal government directed towards native Americans , b.i.a. Indian agents and thier administrators live in luxury from the federal government and Indian people across America live in poverty, Indians are being educated and have been increasingly getting stronger and stronger

L2TheFace Bars I hear you. But this crappy government has pardoned real criminals before. Peltier almost was pardoned by bill Clinton. but due to some of his pathetic actions he pardoned other people who should have rotted in prison...luckily they will rot in hell and Leonard will finally be at piece when he passes away. so sad FREE PELTIER

Here's my theory... what if the masked shooter was government affiliated & hired to kill the 2 agents, because they just might be the 2 agents Jack Steed(r.i.p) saw put Annie in the car trunk after they killed her (dead men tell no tales).. and at the same time use the killings of these 2 sicko's as an excuse to get rid of Peltier. Fin.

Sorry I had a laugh at Sussanes Killer when she said "they never really did anything to me". I think with that name it would give most people pause. She looks and sounds like she would be a great/terrific Grand-Mother! I bet she has/had a ton of good stories! So sad of a story for Leonard and really all of the Indigenous Americans! Railroaded so many times, soooo many treaties broken to no fault of their own. Most times kicked off their land when it is discovered it had Minerals or Natural Resources.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO HELP LEONARD PELTIER? Is there anyone fighting for this man? I hope his family is taken care of by their Tribe in his absence. What can we do? @@Psychiatrick . I feel like this man shouldn't be forgotten about. It is a Tribal matter, but it is also a .Gov versus the People matter as well. This could have been anyone and has been in situations like Waco, Ruby Ridge and in the case of Mr. Peltier, these are cases of might equals right, rail roading by an entity too powerful to be held back by laws, Treaties, or human decency. My heart goes out to this man, he was young and he found himself in the wrong situation. What a shame. Thanks for the response and I hope people don't forget about him while he's locked away as a Political Prisoner.

Cana'an-Vatican-Satan is into the scorched earth policy. 1776: Vatican agents aka: "Our Founding Fathers who ain't in Heaven, curse-ed be thy names ...." Staged the fake war of Independence by borrowing 18 million pounds of silver from the Vatican Bank of England to STAGE a fight with the German Hessians/WAGNERS in the so-called War of Independence. The repayment was to be 1,000,000 pounds per year for 18 years. Wurshington pulled the 1st Bankruptcy at 1789 thus the reason for CON-gress. The SOLE purpose of the bull shit of "Democracy" is to create debt then take the land in lieu of debt. As long as there are "Patriots" and "Christians" this will NEVER end until the last PERSON is murdered off. In that cents, it is a matter of People v We the People aka "Government".
