Everyone saying they disrespected Klay. They offered him 2 years 50 M AND they gave him a 5-year, $190 million contract while he was injured in July 2019. They were more then accommodating for Klay. Chump move after taking care of you while you were hurt and going 0 for 11 in your last game in my personal opinion. Klay a GOAT still though.

⁠⁠@@tonymimi9715Probably not in other teams, but in GSW, Dray is way more valuable. Just look how they played after he came back. And how they played after Klay was benched. You can also check the advanced metrics in statistics VORP, BPM, winshares, you name it, even PER, Klay is not only not in the top of the starters, he is below Dray in every category even TS%. I didn’t know but Dray had a better FG%, 3pt% and eFG% than Klay, of course with less attempts but still.

They had planned all along to get rid of Klay especially after he came back from his injury and was not the player he was. Of course it was only a matter of time before they were going to think about trading him or sending him somewhere else not resigning him was obviously a sign that they did not want him anymore all great players play dispensable once they become too old are injury prone to play. Clay was never the same player after his injury play was obvious they were going to trade him or release him.

But Curry got benched when he was playing like 💩 started being the Chef again and got his role. When they gave Klay an extension 2/3 years he was injured and even when they won the chip his third year he was #5 in scoring on the team and only made wide open shots. He was worth the shot but it’s time to rebuild anyways. All the other teams in the NBA are rebuilding because the legends are getting old. Thanks for everything Klay but you gone time for younger players to develop

My 2 cents….I respect what Klay did for the Warriors. They respected him by paying him even though he was hurt. Fast forward to now…. He is not the same player. He is in his mid 30’s and has an injury that will NOT sustain him playing the way he did before. Sometimes people have to hit the wall to realize the “game” is over.

We should of kept him but he was never going to be ok with transitioning to a bench roleplayer. If his heart isn't in it to change how he goes about the game then he's a detriment. I wish him success in Dallas.
