Your videos are literally perfect, I wouldn’t worry too much about maintaining the typical idea of an asmr channel! You have a naturally soothing voice and a calmness about you that lends itself to asmr, but the asmr crowd clearly love your stuff despite not having the all the ridiculous tapping and mouth sounds 😂 I for one have always preferred soft spoken asmr and I love information so for me these videos are perrrrrrfect! Don’t change just because you think that’s what a hypothetical group of people would probably prefer!

Hey Linda, super interesting topic! One thing I know about it (being a train enthusiast) is how the war impacted production of new locomotives. The railroads were of course a huge asset to the war effort, and railroads needed new locomotives to keep up with wartime traffic. However, the war production board restricted things in a couple ways: no new locomotive designs were allowed, so this led to some railroads borrowing designs from each other (many railroads had proprietary locomotive designs). Another aspect that was restricted were materials, so some of the locomotives built during this time period ended up being some of the heaviest ever built due to more lightweight metals being restricted from use. In my hometown in the UK the factory producing Spitfire fighters in WW2 was bombed and the production continued in small workshops around the city. Lots of small businesses making components, its an interesting story.

I've been listening to your vids because of your voice. Just to add to your info, I recall Chrysler made thousands of tanks and trucks during the war. Packard car company made the licensed version of the RR Merlin engine (for P-51s and other aircraft) as well as other engines and equipment. Of course Jeeps were made by Willie's, Ford and some other company (could it be Chrysler?). I recall Good Year made aircraft including a licensed version of the Corsair. Studebaker made trucks, but they probably made other war materials. That's as far as my fading memory can remember. I'd better hit the books again, or google them, ha. Happy New Year.

I am a boardgame publisher and will, at some point in the future, make a group game exactly about this...the regular homefront citizens that helped win WW2. One player will play as English citizens in the tunnels during the London bombing raids, another will be the factory workers in the U.S., another will be the French Resistance. The title will either be "Homefront" or "Their Finest Hour." It's a fascinating time period.

You should do an entire video on watch companies during WW2 like you mentioned around 22:07 Watches were actually an important piece of gear for soldiers on both sides, so many now iconic Pilot’s or Field watches were designed during that time. Since most of the watch industry was already based in Switzerland, many famous watchmakers like IWC and A. Longe and Sonne actually made watches for the Nazis, while the allies were mostly supplied by Hamilton, Omega and Bulova

You should make a video about the different types of guitars and stuff that would be really cool. I recently started playing electric guitar and I still don’t know what kinds and models are out there. Just an idea i thought would be fun
