also, the developers really did make the winter event in 2 weeks (this is what i’ve heard from one of the devs). They started working on it a couple days after below had announced that the winter event was coming one of the main reasons they could make it so fast was because they reused a lot of enemy models, saving them time. still very impressive tho and one of my favorite events

I don’t think TDX was prioritizing a big Christmas event, I think their next big event will be a lot better

Tbh i hope both games rival each other for the top spot for years to come each pushing each to get better content more optimizations and overall more fun for the community

Tdx said it themselves that the Christina’s update wasn’t fully made because the game came out literally a month before it and had three updates prior this on top of the fact that tdx has a much smaller player base led it to being less popular. Also, they have announced a harder version coming out soon that will be more finished

The First Tdx Event was much easier compared to TDS's, but that's cause it just came out and not many people had good towers, so john wanted it to be easy for newer players, as the game has been out only for around 2 months.

4:56 well, this is one theory, after raz retired, below has promoted many small developers into lead developers, the lunar overture event was a letdown because raz cant do everything while the smaller devs do less than him, and if my math is correct, many lead devs cam do more than one lead dev, shrimple as that

5:20 Besides the models of the freezer rework as well as the phantom skins all being done, everything was done in those 2 weeks as far as i am aware (some devs didnt even know about the winter event until below tweeted about it at the start of december)

and i feel like the tds devs were also working hard on the late November 2.0 update they teased and that also could've interfered with production of the lunar overture event

it was actually made in 2 weeks- even below confirmed it. all the work was on LO (lunar overture) and they only managed to completely finish act 1, act 2 was in progress and act 3 barely was even started by the time it was supposed to release

Yeah the Christmas event for TDS is great is challenging and the event tower is pretty cool but i personally think that the cryomancer need he's ice to freeze faster since he doesn't do alot of DMG.

The only problem i had with tds this year is that its extremely laggy to the point that i had to use the rejoin system so that i could get into a game because it only showed me a black screen

i didnt get jester even with G soldier cause i keep loosing to a random enemy that materialized out of thin air, also another thing i want to add, the april fools event for TDX was fire

2023 Was a bumpy year for TDS With TDX releasing and taking the spot as the king, but the Halloween and winter event have been awesome.

I joined easter 2020 and honestly if you were a early 2023 TDS fan it was terrible with the lack of content and updates i really thought they were gonna end the year with a couple skin crates good thing they got their priorities straight.

I was in this game when gladiator first appeared. I liked it so much. Time passed and game became greedier and greedier with each year. I just didn't have the time to grind all these skins. I didn't even the accelerator.

Man I stopped playing tds when i lost my old account… I had golden,mini accelerator, all the good stuff. But I lost it.

Personally I don’t think that’s the main reason at all when I played tds in my main and secondary account the thing that bugs me the most is how when you get ranger and turret the game felt like a full stop I mean be honest how many games did you have to grind until getting mini,it’s not too much but after lvl50 the next goal costs either 500,000 coins or 2,500 gems which for gold crate you either choose molten and get 500 max or fallen and fail so you’re always grinding and grinding and it’s no less for hardcore how many people who are trying to get accel actually survived the stupid boss on wave 25 so the only thing that isn’t grindy are events which might get delayed by a month

Now the TDX Christmas Event Nightmare Mode is out, I feel like this is way too hard. It reminds me of TDS Act 3 and Violent Night in terms of difficulty and the fact that it features a multiplier that can clone Exo Santa is something something more worse in gameplay. TDX itself also intends to keep the event as permanent gamemode even after the Christmas event ends. Like how TBZ kept the Cold Construct ingame permanently so that everyone can get surveyor At least someday, I will definitely beat this!

To be honest i dont know why people compare tdx as tds . Its been almost 5 year tds exist while its only 2 month tds released and that’s already crazy that a 2month old game (still it been 2year they have been workin on it) can challenge tds but i think we just need to appreciate both game and not be mean to the dev that are working hard

Tdx has said that it will be an nightmare difficulty and an easy for their christmas event so they will add an nightmare dificulty to the event so the christmas event isn't even finished yet for tdx (but I think I am still gonna prefer the tds event even afther the nightmare difficulty for the tdx event is released).

The only thing they didnt fail at was the music (Phoqus clutched up)

i hadn’t played in a while. when i joined a few months ago after a long time. I WAS SO LAGGY, CRASHED AND SO MUCH BIG BUTTONS IN MY FACE! i preferred the buttons before

idk why... but i am going to type my whole tds story. from level 0 to 120 So it started off in Christmas 2022 a little before the event. Then my friend and my other friend that was his twin brother told me about Tds then we grinded and grinded on my account i got up to level 25. Then the Xmas Event came out. By the way, my account was only a couple weeks old. Then the event came around and my friends won it but I tried and tried but did not win... but after the event I kept grinding for warden but never got it because I never got robux :( . But then i got grounded and my mum logged me out of my account and it was game over for me... 6 months later i came back and i was better than ever i got to get warden and i did not get it last time then i got the level 50 ,super fast then i meet people to help me grind hard core and for the first time i got it and this time robux helped me get it on the way i bought cowboy but i got super happy :) Then For a long time I played lost souls but I finally won after I had to get the skin and positive stuff was happening. Then bad stuff started to happen. My friend quit the game that told me about it and his twin brother also quit and i was all alone with my friends that i don't even know. But that didn't stop me. I kept on my grind and then I got my new golden tower golden cowboy. I was very happy. It took me weeks but still I got it. Then I got grounded again and I thought I was done but my mom did not delete my account. So I came back a couple weeks later. But the Halloween event already started and I was sad because I missed some of it but tdx started and my friends were playing. I tried it and I hated it and my friends were saying the game was dead. I did not care and I had fun. I struggled in act 1 and beat act 2 and 3 easily. A streamer helped me beat act 3 . But the Christmas event came out and I beat it on the first try and it was super easy. So this is my story on my Tds groth. THANK YOu

Naaaa when act 3 first released I had every tower and I could not beat it

lunar overture wasn't bad event, act 3 was disapointing and thats it the reason why krampus's revenge event is so good is simple: they re-used enemeis from violent night event and remade some frost invasion enemies and puted krampus from xmas 2019 event on top of that, that made them able to focus on other new stuff, like skins, santa quests, the new tower, freezer, frost blaster and slegder reworks, improvments, console support bla bla basically what re-using stuff gives you

Nah the Christmas event 2022 with the same layout as duck hunt wasn’t the problem for me at least it was the bosses and bad match making that stoped me form getting elf camp

TDS needed a rival, their competition for the same genre and basically playerbase will promot innovation and will do their best to one-up each other, leading to us, the players, to benefit.

I can tell 2024 will be an amazing year for tds. They have lots of cool stuff planned for us like tower pets, commando rework, 2.0.0 update (very big update) and other things i dont know about.

Honestly only reason I know this game exists is because I searched up Accelerator but I saw this game’s Accelerator

Well the Lunar Overture event…act 1 was like 10/10…then came act 2 which wasnt possible in squads and you had to do it Solo. And then act 3…many people stopped playing bcs it was un-balanced, but I stopped playing TDS bcs the act 3 was locked for me (yes I finished the act 2). So i stopped playing TDS, and started playing new TDX. I think TDX is NOW better because updates are there more often and they are balanced. Plus when I start TDS the game…is extremly laggy, and it crashes a lot. So I play rather TDX even tho I would like to play TDS winter event but I cant because TDS just crashes my PC. This is only my opinion. Play any game you want.

The time frame for john to make the chistmas event for tdx was scrunched and he also wanted newer players to be able to get the event tower but i do think that the next event and addon to this event will be way better than what we have so far.

tdx event part 2 will get no competetor because most of tds players now only need to grind for battlepass and stuff

no one is talking on how they cooked up the event so quickly i mean you can make maps easily and they already had assets of the enemies some are revamped, some are the same (like violent night) and you can clearly see they rushed on cryo because they ripped off her bio from pyro and secondly its kinda buggy and also kinda op sooo thats my theory how they cooked up this event (ik no one is reading this)

Honestly, the TDX Christmas event flopped regardless of the TDS event. On the one hand, The event itself isn't that bad but isn't that great either, there is also barely anything to grind for and most players already got everything from the event in the first hours, and not to say; the event is INCREDIBLY easy. On the other hand, TDX is a new game, making the event too hard could result in even bigger blacklash from the community as most players don't have all towers unlocked yet. I feel like TDX will eventually take over TDS unless they will start pumping updates faster. Overall, competition would be great for the game[s].

to anyone saying tdx is dying it is very new and needs a lot of work and time because unlike tb or tds it doesnt have memorable past yet, but it is heading for a very good future and yes it is very anit player but it aiming for a more challenging approach but it was a bit overshot and needs a bit of work before it could be bearable by newer players and the grind wont be as harsh. but both are good games you should play
