Because of Starscream's ambition to reanimate Skyquake, the same way Megatron did with the previous Cybertronian corpses with Dark Energon.

Saying Dreadwing was the only Decepticon that still believe in the faction's cause isn't true. *Starscream* still wants to rebuild Cybertron, so he can go back to his old days of being a renowned high-ranking officer. You can see him going ape shit when Optimus destroyed the device used to restore Cybertron, while Megatron is just laughing about how Autobots can never come "home" again. Megatron is now obsessed with beating the Autobots and cared not for Cybertron. *Soundwave* was a member of the Cybertron council, whose idea of abolishing the unfair caste system was casted aside. He grew disdain and took the Vow of Silence, since what's the point of talking if nobody is willing to listen? You could also count *Shockwave* in as well, since he only wants to experiment, to advance the Cybertronian race. And he became so cold and calculating was because that same Council removed his emotions. The Decepticon cause initially was to make all bots equal (Remember, Megatron was initially a mining robot). But it soon became lost when Megatron cares more about beating the Autobots than saving his own planet (remember in G1 the only reason they came to Earth was because they need to find more Energon to transport back to Cybertron because the war left the planet near dead). The Autobots were the ones who wanted that unfair caste system back. So in truth, who's the bad guy here?

​@@theotv5522 Yeah cause wanting to destroy earth to make "all bots" equal makes your side look less villainous..... If the bots are the bad guys, so are the cons as well. In war, there is no "bad guy" alot lf the time, some rare occasions yes but alot of the time. War is fought over both sides wanting a goal that is beneficial in some ways but their ways of wanting it are tyrannical or too unfair in nature. This is why for example you can root for America in war movies all you want but even America committed war crimes so not even they were innocent themselves.

I rather thought about Dreadwing tossing Starscream to Shadowzone to find Skyquake and bring him back not-alive, so Dreadwing himself could put his brother out misery at last. Moreover, finding Megatron equally guilty, Dreadwing would challenge Megatron himself for the right of ruling Decepticons. During the epic duel Dreadwing would prevail and become a new leader by killing Megatron. When that happens, Starscream escapes and ironically he would try resurrecting Megatron, not just to save his own spark but out of newfound loyality for his master. Meanwhile Optimus would be relieved at first to see Megatron no longer in charge, only to witness in horror Dreadwing still following his predecessor's ambitions to create a new Decepticon Empire. Once Dreadwing's offer to Prime to create as equals a new, powerful Cybertron Empire like never seen before and which would "share its gifts in no-Megatron way" with the rest of the universe, even Earth, would be rejected, Dreadwing would turn against Autobots.

Yeah that would’ve be a good reflection arc but NOPE.

Maybe Dreadwing could change his name to Jetfire if he joined the Autobots.🛩️🤷

At that time Starscream was in a better postion. He gave megatron the 4 omega keys and asked only to be a con again. Dreadwing dissobeyed orders and gave away the forge. Shortsided from megatron but not illogical in the heat of the moment.

If someone told me that I'd actually be stunned hurt and cry when Dreadwing dies, and him refusing to join the AB, I wouldn't have believed them...

The only think supporting KO joining the autobots is his love for human culture such as their automobiles, movies, games etc.

I think it would be interesting to join them for a few fights, and maybe sacrifice himself. Such wasted potential. Same thing with breakdown and Cylas.

WOULDN'T life be richer if Dreadwing would join the Autobots as an Elite Guardsman, my friend? I say, yes. Just look at Snapdragon and Doubledealer from "Transformers: Earth Wars". THEY joined the Autobot cause, and I think Dreadwing should as well. AND you were right about one thing as well, my friend. Dreadwing ISN'T a villian at all. He's just a misunderstood Decepticon who REALLY wanted to join the "winning team", and THAT, my friend, is the Autobots. SINCE in BOTH Optimus Prime's and MY theories, SOME Decepticons like Dreadwing, Snapdragon and Doubledealer would rather dig the Autobot cause, SINCE BOTH Optimus Prime and I see the good in some of those Decepticons. This is MY opinion in ALL of this and it has been since I started playing "Transformers: Earth Wars" and feeling sorry for some Decepticons like Snapdragon, Doubledealer and Dreadwing, who ALL believe that the Decepticon cause is something they no longer wish to be part of. And one more thing, till ALL are one.

Every time someone says the Decepticons are the bad side makes me think they didn't understand Decepticons. Cybertron has a caste system, where your role is assigned to upon creation, and you can't change/rise up. Megatron was a mining robot, forced to work, and all the other worker bots were so depressed they host fighting area (Pits of Kaon) so they can die in glorious battle rather than in the mining tunnels). Soundwave was a member of Cybertron Council. He proposed change to this unfair system, but the higher-ups didn't want to lose their privileges, casted him out. That's when he grew disdain and took the Vow of Silence. What's the point of talking if nobody is willing to listen. Optimus thought he could change the caste system with peaceful diplomacy (which obviously will never work, Soundwave did this before). Optimus was too naive to realise those in power will never wants to give up their power. That's why the war broke out, and the Autobot branded the Decepticons as "evil" when they're the ones who're enforcing that unfair system. They weren't affected, so to them, they only saw these lowly worker bots rebelling and called them villains. Imagine you're in the Decepticon's shoes, would you quietly accept your fate, or do you rise up, then be branded as "villains" for simply wanting equality?
