My Grandfather went to Hiroshima 2 days after the bomb was dropped because of his position in the Army and by doing so he was exposed to toxic level of radiation! My grandfather became what is known as The Atomic Veterans aka "Forgotten Veterans" The military has long denied my grandfather's existence and by 1989 he was DEAD! Today, The U.S Miltary is giving "HUSH MONEY" but only to the remaining living Atomic Veterans;however, most of The Atomic Veterans died in the Mid 70s through the Mid 90s! And considering how many health problems my grandfather had and his descentant $90,000 isn't good enough!!

What the Japanese did to the city of Nanking was a war crime but when I was in the military and I was stationed over in Japan they downplay it to the point that they don't even talk about it, as a matter of fact they consider themselves victims because of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

In my personal opinion this was a war crime, same for allied bombing of german cities like Dresden. The entire population was preparing to fight to the death to defend Japan and the emperor who they considered a god.
