This is so timely. "The whole fasting and praying then God gave me this or that" (usually referring to temporary things) hasn't been my testimony either. I felt like I was doing something wrong for the longest time, then leading to resentment, discouraged, and disappointment for not getting something in my timeline. But God is not in a box nor in our timeframe. Don't get me wrong, God can show up and show out with tangible blessings also, but that isn't the main goal. The goal is to know Him. Thank you for your boldness for speaking about this because it confirms what I was feeling and seeing in the bible about the purpose of fasting.

Thanks for the video. I have to say that for me yes I know that fasting is what delivered me from a very difficult financial situation. I did a three day water fast and almost immediately I was approached for a new opportunity. The way fasting works is many fold - the lack of food allows your energy centers to be cleared and your spiritual body becomes lighter - energy moves faster and your manifestation speeds up. Another part of it is the discipline that it takes to do a real fast (no food just water). That discipline carries over into other areas of your life and you build the discipline to execute on your goals. And while you are fasting you have to be intentional. I prayed/meditated on my intentions and I knew in my spirit that it was done. It’s a trust and a knowing without doubt. Every time you fast with intention something happens. Just because you don’t see it immediately doesn’t mean it is not there. Depending on your starting point you may need more work or more time.

Good morning Enna😊. So I don’t have that much experience on fasting but I feel like when I fast for the Lord it’s not because I want to achieve a outcome out of it or him but because I want to glorify the Lord, and he wants us to fast. And I feel like we do have so much food and other things others don’t have , so for me to fast also helps me to be more thankful and to realize how much I already have and not to over consume. I feel like if God wants to bless us with something for example something we prayed for or we even fasted for I think it’s just because he wanted to bless us, or because he had mercy on us. I started off my fasting journey by having bullet points of things I wanted & hoped for and it was a long list, when I tried to fast for each bullet point bit by bit, I just heard the holy spirit disagreeing with the list. Almost like he was telling me to scratch everything and just come to God’s feet when I fast, be still and receive whatever it is he wanted to bless me with during the fast or afterwards. Be it; wisdom, revelation, understanding of him and the kingdom, peace or even tangible things.

Thanks sis. This is so relevant. There are many misleading youtube videos on how God works. We cannot manipulate God into answering our heartfelt prayers. God makes things work for us at his appointed time!

You are right Sister and I have been thinking about this as well. God rains on the just and the unjust. He is sovereign and in control.. he is going to do why he wants to do in his timing. Fasting has nothing to do with maneuvering his hand to “bless us” because we fasted. I think like you do Enna ….we have been taught some much false doctrine in the church and don’t rightly divide the word of God correctly. God is all about the heart and motives why we do the things we do. If you’re going to fast…. fast for proper motives and a pure heart… Amen🙂👏👏👏💯👍
