Thanks for sharing. Here's hoping for speedy recovery. As someone already said, you can't explain to someone who doesn't get it if your injury while doing something you love was worth it. As an ultramarathoner and kayaker (dabbling in the canoe as of late) I still haven't found the words. 🤷 I try. But damn it's good to be out there!!!

Another great vid but, man, that first part was hard to watch. Great response under pressure (and in pain) - seemed well-executed from where I'm sitting. Nice highlight reel as well...of course it was worth it! Sometimes something has to give and, like an old fibreglass boat, fortunately we're very repairable. Hope the surgery went well and that the recovery is smooth.

You can't really explain to someone who is unaware if the cause of your temporary discomfort was worth it when it is something you are passionate about. Especially when that something improves every aspect of your being. That all comes later after an accumulation of minor injuries over a lifetime take their toll. But for now you must go forward and seek your joy, your passion, your completeness and revel in it while you can. This I know, as do you.

Got to give it to you guys - what separates the men from the boys is how you handle these emergengy situation and you guys handled it well. It's so nice to see the two other of your buddies helping you out, keeping top priority on recueing you!! ... I am sure your shoulder will be fine and eventually you will enjoy more great times on water!!!
