Be careful with the harness in the water. A member of my NAVHDA club lost a dog from tangling and drowning in a harness. He was devastated.

Nice dog work. I prefer to train them to be steady to wing and shot before I release them to retrieve. I don't like the dog running after the bird before it's shot. That Pudelpointer points with a decent style.

Can't stress enough on getting a young dog on to wild birds. Even if you have to travel to them. I made it a point to go to Michigan or Minnesota for Grouse and Woodcock, and then to South Dakota or Kansas for Pheasant and Quail each season. The challenge of hunting wiser wild birds improved the way my dog approached hunting altogether.

Got on it when it was high as hell in early spring one year with folks in the Greater Balt Canoe Club. The massive holes were not for playing around in. I was so happy when we got down to the bottom. Surviving those holes was a miracle for sure. Everywhere you looked there was holes the size of buses.

Beautiful. Love the Breed. My girl CiCi, the same way. I was on a waiting list for over a year for her. I’m in ND as well. Got her from Dakota Sky Pudelpointers. While I also love hunting bigger game, NOTHING compares to hitting the field with your dog. It’s almost spiritual.

Great dog ,I want one . My only question is are any they less hyper than a German Short Haired Pointer ? I spend time with my dog but I don't need one that will rip the house part if I'm not there.

Good job! One point may be to think of the paddle as being stuck in wet cement and instead of moving the paddle to the boat as you say, to think of moving the boat to the paddle. When the paddle is "planted" that is what happens. (And make Vertical strokes ;-))!) Another tip is to use the paddle shaft length instead of overall paddle length as the blades are different lengths and so are folks torsos. Stay Safe & Have Fun (SS&HF) along with SYOTW!!
