We often hear about the child sacrifices that were made to the god "Molech/Moloch" in the Old Testament... but was this really a divine being? Should we interpret the Hebrew phrase LMLK differently? Dr. Heath Dewrell gives us his take on the issue.

Allen Ginsberg used Moloch in his 1956 poem Howl, as a symbol of everything that was wrong with American capitalism, war, uncontrolled technology, prisons, injustice, etc. When I first read Ginsberg's poems, I didn't realize how much scholarship went into them. I recommend one of the recordings of Ginsberg reading it himself, which are easily found on the internet.

Except when you realize quite of a few stories in the Bible are actual Sumerian story retellings, meaning there indeed were multiple "Gods" and "The Lord", as he liked to call himself, was simply one of these beings. He even demands that people worship no other Gods than him and mentions other Gods directly out of his own mouth.

Sacrificing children must have been what fallen angels or demons wanted men to do for them, cause when God suggested Abraham do for him, but while God was testing Abraham, the fallen angels demanded sacrifice in order to mock God, while glorifying themselves.either way, something had to deceive people for them to willingly sacrifice their children.

Molek/Molok/Melech means King. During summer (sun in northern hemisphere) he is the good sun (God). During winter (sun in southern hemisphere) he is the evil sun (Satan). "I (the Sun) form the light and create darkness; I make peace (summer), and create evil (winter). I, the Lord (Sun) do all these things" (Isaiah 45.7). Even King Solomon (King Sun) did evil during winter when the sun was below the equator. He will soon begin construction of the Temple of God (sacred seven) which is your body. The "destruction" of the biblical temple is nothing more than the end of the seven months beginning at the spring equinox and transition to the remaining five months of the sacred year (spring equinox - spring equinox). The basic astronomical chart is displayed in Genesis one. The six nights are the six months/signs that begins, in the sign of the scales, at the fall equinox and ends at the spring equinox in the sign of the fishes. The six days are the six months/signs that begins in the sign of the Ram at the spring equnox and ends with the sign of the Virgin at the fall equinox. The devouring of the children is nothing more than the consumption of the crops that are saved from the harvest (sign of the genitals aka Scorpio). This is symboled by the Virgin holding a bundle of wheat/barley in her left hand (symbols winter). The Virgin hold a Palm frond/branch in her right hand (symbols summer). See Isaiah 9.14-15, where Israel (summer) has a noble/royal head aka Leo and a lying tail aka Scorpio. The story of Sodom (Scorpio) and Gomorrah (Sagittarius) is about the punishment for not sharing the crops. The two daughters of Lot (hidden one) represents these crops. The mother (Virgo constellation) has a slight turn to her face and she cannot avoid "looking back." The daughters and mother is the same Virgo constellation..

Could it work if the foreign God was Ba'al Hadad? Assuming the Kenite Hypothesis is correct, Hadad would have been the "old god" of the Caananites, whereas Yahweh replaced him. God hates Ba'al for polluting the Israelites with the baby sacrifice, so it might have been Ba'al Hadad (but was probably Ba'al Hamon), and since foreign influence tended to end in religious syncretization, the Ba'als telling people to sacrifice babies to God as "Ba'al Molech" was probably the last straw for a Good and Loving God.

Moloch is the god of Amonnites, or children of Ammon. Baal-Hammon was the chief god who was claimed to be "king of God", asking people for children sacrifices. In Leviticus 18:21 and 20 says that Yahweh was extremely furious about people and gods who were doing sacrifices. Yahweh is not Moloch. Yahweh is a draconian angel who fought for humanity's morality and common sense. He's a natural warrior. Obviously, these ideas of comparing Moloch and Yahweh is a distraction to lose faith. Baal-Hadad is twin brother of Enki and is not Moloch (baal-Hammon). The word "Baal" is a title like "president". I would recommend you to research how many baal existed in those times. Not all baals were evil. Hammurabi wasn't evil for example.

Are you saying that making a certain type of sacrifice was wrong? To prove something shouldn't you take us through some verses that give us context to show how this was not a sacrifice to something? It says in Lev 18:21 that the Israelite's should not let their seed pass through the fire and that God says not to worship as the Caananites did. He says that's why he drove them out of that land. Smith's Bible Dictionary says that Molech was described by Jewish Scholars as being a idol that looked like at bulls head and man's body and that the idol was heated up and babies were placed on the alter and quote "gave up the ghost" so why would Jewish scholars who obviously spoke Hebrew and obviously knew who the Phenicians were have a different description from you? Plus the message here, was that in Leviticus God was asking the Israelites to dedicate their firstborn children to him. You should give a better explaination that to say you interpret it as "with" Molech rather than "to" Molech. You really skirt around answering this question so I feel if you can't answer it fully with support from the Bible and perhaps some other references then don't speak about it. Today people are also said to sacrifice to Molech because of all the abortions that are happening. I think this subject requires a deeper explanation than what you gave.

How would social dynamics work within that group if the majority didn’t accept that child sacrifice “it’s just part of it” at the very least. I am not an expert on this subject. There is a biblical basis for this type of sacrifice which muddied the waters (discussed further in the interview this segment was drawn from-- in short: sacrificing first fruits and firstborns). Add to that the understanding that children are pretty much their parents' property and perhaps the understanding that sacrificing one's children was efficacious in certain circumstances and it seems like it could definitely be a subject to be debated as a matter of interpretation within the group versus seeing it as a completely foreign practice. Based on the biblical account we can at least assume that some people spoke out against child sacrifice publicly, but in every religion there will always be people who are not "doing it" correctly: differences only become heresies ("disposable" offenses?) when it offends the deity in question. It seems like this was eventually the consensus (or we just have writings from the anti-human sacrifice group) of Israelites. I'm curious about social interactions between these groups, too, but I don't think we have enough evidence for how these groups interacted on an everyday level as part of a cohesive society.

I'm onboard with the idea that 'MLK' was a type of sacrifice instead of the name of a deity, likely of Canaanite/Phoenician origins. The 'topheth' in Carthage were of Phoenician origins and there's still debate as to whether these were the burials of child sacrifice victims or just burials of children who died of natural causes since childhood mortality rates were high. My questions then are: 1. What's the origins of the MLK/Molech type of sacrifice? It had to have had some liturgy and ceremony to it. 2. Since Leviticus 18:21-22 mentions the 'molech' sacrifice and relates it to passing kids through the fire, and the next verse (22) is the prohibition of a 'man laying with a man like how a man lays with a woman', could it be that male temple prostitution was practiced during the MLK sacrificial event? Seems out of place for the author in Leviticus 18 to think to mention not sacrificing children during an MLK/Molech sacrifice and then immediately prohibit men sleeping with men. From a literary standpoint, it makes more sense that the author(s) would equate homosexual sex (cultic ritual sex for fertility) with Molech ceremonies since the prohibition against male to male sex is mentioned in the very next verse.

Sounds like a lot of speculation to me. As can be seen he never once gave any evidence that the record found in Tanakh is wrong. Even his linguistic argument is unconvincing because of his lack of knowledge of the Hebrew language as he admitted when he didn't know how to pronounce the name of king Ahaz.

I remember this being preached so many times, along with pictures drawn from imagination about the flaming bronze idol with fire blazing inside. I always wondered why no one had ever found such an idol, and how the pastors knew all this without it being in the Bible or anywhere else in known history. The imaginary images were used to stoke the emotions of the believers, and then a false correlation was drawn to abortion being a sacrifice to Satan. Now that I'm out of that imaginary world, I can still see how it powerfully motivates believers to shape the laws of our country.

>Leviticus 18:21 >And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord. God literally tells the jews to stop this wicked practice of burning their babies, child sacrifice was (and still is....) a very real thing, to pretend it was a parable or something said in figurative sense is just denying a hard reality of the so called jews, throughout the old testament they are punished over and over and over for sacrificing their children to these demons, are we really going to simply deny the Bible as a historical source? in hebrew it's the same, by the way the modern star of david used by israel and jews is actually the star of a demon called ramphen, there's reference to this in the bible.

Molek is a modification word for Melek made by scribes. And Melek is usely identified in the Bible as Yahweh.
@ready1fire1aim1

The vocalization Molek occurs eight times in the Masoretic Text, predominantly (five times) in Leviticus: Leviticus 18:21 "And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD." * I am the Yahweh * "thy" seed (🤨) Leviticus 20:2: "Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones." * "his" seed (🤔) Leviticus 20:3: "And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name." * "his" seed (😕) Leviticus 20:4: "And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not" * "his" seed (😬) Leviticus 20:5: "Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people." Two further occurrences connect the practice with Tophet, a place of sacrifice in the Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna, which later acquired the connotation of "Hell"): 2 Kings 23:10: "And he (King Josiah of Judah) defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech." * "his" son or "his" daughter (🤢) Jeremiah 32:35: "And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin." * "their" sons/"their" daughters (🤮) * neither came it into my mind (🥸) The practice of "passing through fire" (`abar ba-'esh עָבַר בָּאֵשׁ‎) associated with the name Moloch in the citations above also occurs without reference to Moloch in Deuteronomy 18:10-13, 2 Kings 16:3 and 21:6 and Ezekiel 20:26,31 and 23:37. Isaiah 30:33 has the vocalization melek ("king"), but this is widely accepted as an omission of the Masoretic correctors: "For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it." *(LORD = YHWH = Yahweh, not God, see Yahwism) On the other hand, while 1 Kings 11:7 has the vocalization Molek, in "Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon", this is widely accepted as an error for Malkam (Milcom), the specifically Ammonite idol.

Ignoring the Masoretic vowel points, the name Molekh and the Hebrew word for 'king' are the same thing: M-L-K. Thus, the 'name' of this supposed Ammonite god means 'King'. The phrase L-M-L-K would then mean "to Molekh" and/or "to [the] King." I've heard that some cultures would ritualistically kill their own king after a certain period, as a sacred offering, and that one way for a king who doesn't want to die to get around this requirement is to have a substitutionary sacrifice, one that takes the place of the King. The difference between this practice and that of the sacrifice of a paschal lamb -- the blood of which was smeared onto the doorposts and lintel, to assuage the bloodthirstiness of the Angel of Death -- is, thus, only a matter of degree and not of kind. According to EXODUS, all the Egyptian homes suffered the deaths of the Firstborn children in them, while the homes of the Israelites were spared because of the substitutionary Lamb sacrifice. Assuming the Bible stories are true, the Molekh sacrifices are no worse than what the Israelites themselves were party to on a massive scale in the Exodus story.

Jesus is the image of the Holy Father so the Holy Father has the same personality as Jesus. An easy way to divide the spirits is what Jesus taught in John 10:10; "The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy," so if a spirit is claiming to be YHVH but is preaching that people should steal, kill or destroy then that is not Our Father speaking.

This subject is very Spiritual. When reading the first few chapters of Ezekiel, you will find He saw within the Spirit, a Face of an OX. In Revelation, John saw a CALF Face, around the Throne of God. Since the OX is older, than the Calf, I'm with the belief, this is Father and Son. Separated. One in Heaven, One on Earth. The Calf being young such as a child, in Heaven. Jesus exclaimed we need to go before God such as a child. Also, Jesus stated "Treat others how you want to be treated". The OX, being part of Gods Spirit, came to earth, seeing calves sacrificed all over the place. Thus reminding him, of his own calf in Heaven. This is a comparison of God sacrificing His Son. We as people, hear the Story of the Spirit. However we don't realize we are hearing "Hisstory" and we repeat it, here in the flesh. When reading Revelation, chapter 12, you will find who the Kings of Heaven were. The Kings were the Heads of the Great RED Dragon. In Genesis, Adam's name means RED man. RED Dragon. RED man. The Spirit moved through the bloodline of Adam and was re-born with the name of Jesus. According to Revelation, His Seven Spirits are on Fire Around the Throne. Jesus Christ walks Through these Spirits. And is the King OF Kings, the Lord OF Lords (lowerd's- lowerd to earth and judged by the word of God himself) Thus they are Fires Around the Throne. Also, the Spirit lives within Each of us. And "The Spirit returns to the Spirit from which it came." We have been given control OVER the Spirit in Genesis. However, even in these days, we read in the news, of mother's puting their own babies in the oven. This is not right. I can assure you, the Spirit that does these things, is on Fire Around the Throne of God. And the Spirit within these mothers RETURNS to the Spirit from which it came. Remember: there are SEVEN Spirits OF God. Thus far I have learned the names of 3 of the Seven Spirits: 1. The Destroyer. (God called himself by this name in Exodus, when speaking to Moses) 2. Death 3. Hell (Death and Hell WERE given Power by God to kill man.) Remember: Just because you are "given power" to hurt people, Does NOT mean you should use that power....... God Commanded: Thou sall NOT kill. The Spirit whom does WILL return to the Spirit from which it came. God knows his own Spirit and the "Word" (Jesus- King of Kings) Separates the Soul from the Spirit. Jesus- The First AND the Last.

Amos 5:25,26 says the Israelites sacrificed to Molech the 40 years in the wilderness not Yah·weh. It's interesting that the last plague before the exile from Egypt was child sacrifice. It could be argued that Yah·weh is Molech.

@@Soohable the anunnaki story of Creation is one I accept but that's as far as I'm willing to go. Everything else you said about human history is more of a fairy tale than anything else and hasn't been proven at all. It's just a story as far as I'm concerned and even the anunnaki may very well be just a story but I like the idea of humans being genetically engineered by aliens. It's entertaining.

The bible was so poorly translated. From this Abraham probably left Canaan for this reason, and it never went away, so Israel had to deal with it when they came back.

The 12 tribes and the sons of David and king Solomon. King Solomon is a famous demonologist who created religion creating the bible with elements from the original words of wisdom, such as the dead sea scrolls. The spell books include the key of king Solomon and the grand grimoire, which includes necromancey and child sacrifices. This video does not include the texts which include warnings not to worship molech. Zionist/Jesuit vatican emperors of Rome/kings of Jerusalem/the ashkenatzi Germania talmud of babylonia. Palestine was known as a land of Syria, the entite levant spoke aramaic. The people were known as pelesets. The Roman empire was never dissolved merely re-organised. With the bloodline of the royals and the knights, starting 1096AD. King John and the plantagenents. So.....putin, trump, Netanyahu, Rothschild, Rockefeller, Hitler, churchill, soros, gates, Kissinger all the bloodline. Not to be confused with Jews who actually fought alongside one another in the massacre of Jerusalem (jews&muslim), of the frankish empire. Why were the dead scrolls hidden? And other ancient texts like the book of creation? And why do people still speak aramaic in Israel, Syria and lebannon?

@@nataliee5501 Thanks Natalie. I'll look at some of those. I often deal with someone who follows every conspiracy theorist in the book. This channel seems to praise and bow down to those who are 'scholars'. I put forth two words that prove this one intellect, in particular, to be wrong. The two words are 'whoring after'. Read a passage in Leviticus and another in Judges. Leviticus 20:4 "then I shall set My face against that man and against his clan, and shall cut him off - and all who go whoring after him, even go **whoring after Moleḵ** - from the midst of their people." the two words 'whoring after' is before a noun and not an adjective or verb. Read on in Judges: Judges 2:17 "However, they did not listen to their rulers either, but went **whoring after** other mighty ones, and bowed down to them. They soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commands of יהוה - they did not do so." The operative phrase is 'whoring after ... mighty ones' which means that the act of whoring refers to a false god. In Leviticus, the whoring was after Moleḵ, a false god.
