Mate I react the same way every time I watch it…..in fact if need good weep or need to see something to remind me what life really about I go watch this every time. I've watched this video over 100 times and I still haven't made it past, 'dreamin', I was only dreamin'', without crying. So don't be to hard on yourself. In fact there is only one singer that gets to me faster that is Daneliya Tuleshova from Kazakhstan. What's funny is Angelina is six months older than Daneliya. The world has become a better place since November 24, 2013 when Angelina auditioned. Angelina has already improved the quality of life for countless people and will continue to do so throughout her career. No other vocalist ever made me cry and Angelina makes me cry often.

It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on KZfaq before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. That is Angelina. She makes you "Experience" the music. After years I still have not been able to properly express the phenomenon that so many people, myself included, experience when she sings. She doesn't "perform" or "sing" the music. She becomes the music and opens herself to embody the story and emotion of the song. You can't help but relate to the music because you are really relating to her and empathizing with her as she seems to "live" the song. Well, that's my feeble attempt at once again trying to put words to the unexplainable. Great reaction.

The even more astounding thing is, each of the 4 songs she sang in the competition was better than the one before, IMO!

Love the reaction, Benji. I've seen that video dozens of times and I've cried every time. I saw an interview with Omer Bhati, the first judge that talked to Angelina before she sang. He said that the judges were all astounded by her, but they couldn't be sure if she was really that good, or if it was more about the sing choice. It is, after all, a song from someone who has lost the love of their life and is considering suicide to once again be with that person. The next time the judges saw her, she was giving instructions to the musicians about how she wanted them to do the song. He said that they knew right there and then that she was the REAL DEAL.

Listen to the original by Billie Holiday and you will swear she was reincarnated into Angelina. Both versions are so eerily similar, even though she was just a kid and Billie was in her prime.
