The issue still stands that YT needs to fix their live streaming part. It's hard to check who's live even if I'm subscribed with notifs on especially since I use my phone to watch YT most of the time. If YT plans to expand on livestreaming they need to update their app to have a different area for the live streams vs the regular video feeds, similar to what they do to YT Shorts.
@aussiegaming9097

my least favourite thing about the youtube app on phone is the fact that the first thing it shows you is usually shorts, or if you scroll the shorts and quit the app it opens the shorts again. in my opinion they should be completely removed from the home page and kept in their own sections and make a live stream section as well

Long time lurker here. I genuinely think that your switch to KZfaq was smart move on both your end and KZfaq's end. The energy the subathon pumped into not only your streams at the time, but also your content on KZfaq, allowed for you to sway many of your fans and chatters to follow you to KZfaq after you announced the deal. KZfaq seems to suit your style of content rather well in comparison to Twitch and giving you a very hands off deal where they just let you run wild is very refreshing to see. That's all :) o7

I think you left at a high spot of your career. You were a hot commodity and everyone wanted to know what you were going to do next. And then instead of just streaming, or just continuing your own channel, you fully utilized every facet of KZfaq. You always did a good job of utilizing the stream to make videos. Once you started making shorts, making little interesting different genres of channels, working on big content projects, and just pushing the gas to the floor you couldn't fail. TLDR: You combined creativity, hard work, and strong business sense to make $.

I think the difference between Ludwig and other creators who have switched over, is that Ludwig is doing a killer job of *content integration*. Ideally, a system should be more than the sum of its parts, and that's what I think we're seeing with his different channels feeding in to each other. Lud's methods of funneling viewers from one thing to another, like posting a video right after stream or filming a mogul mail on stream, keeps viewers "inside" the Ludwig content sphere. It also probably interacts well on the algorithm that likes to bounce people around channels that share viewership. And this is all only possible because you're using one platform for all content, rather than trying to cater to "twitch chat" and "vod frogs" and "KZfaq viewers". All of that said, it wouldn't matter how good Lud was at directing viewers if he wasn't also making banger content with, as he pointed out, *variety* to it, that gives him a broader appeal. Not only does it attract different fans, but it keeps him from feeling one-note or stale to viewers who watch different things. Keeping things fresh and exciting is hard for streamers. For me, it's the mogul mail analysis, the recap videos of crazy livestream events, and the (sadly extinct) long offstream mode autopets vods. I only rarely watch live, I don't consume shorts, and I'm not a podcast listener. But knowing those exist elevates my perception of Ludwig as a "serious" creator. Basically, it wasn't just a platform change, it was a paradigm shift, and other streamers should take notes.

I personally feel pretty disconnected from the platform competition, and a lot of the drama on both platforms, but I have remained pretty obsessed with the way content creators manage to stream, create content on stream, script Live content, react/act without any script, create & maintain relevance on other social media platforms whether they want to be a part of it or not, and etc etc. all for the sake of their love for their own community, building their channels/brands, and so on. I feel it’s been pretty damn cool to see you, Ludwig, make the switch to KZfaq. I’d previously considered it to be more worth using both platforms: twitch for Live, KZfaq for stream highlights, videos, clips, etc. But I think you’ve really paved the way for a lot of people who were on the fence about the switch or not even considering moving to YT. You also made it clear that it’s not like you had to disconnect yourself from twitch streamers. Yall can still be cool, hang out and make content together. I think you’ve also made KZfaq appear much more attractive by immediately opening the window of communication with the KZfaq higher ups for improvements. Mogul Mail fucking slaps, too. I mainly watch Mogul Mail.

The one thing that makes this video even more crazy to me, personally, is the day you uploaded this clip: it was the same day my data bootcamp and I were showcasing our capstone projects... One of the presenters had talked about you, during their presentation about Twitch viewership. I didn't even know about your existence until that presentation lol. What I will say is that making Mogul Mail with the switch was a great idea and that was what lead me to actually watching some of your streams. Had you stayed streaming only on Twitch, but still made Mogul Mail, I would of enjoyed the content but it wouldn't of been enough to get me to open twitch and actually watch a stream.

Grats dude. I'll admit, I didn't watch any of your Twitch stuff and still pretty rarely do I watch the Ludwig channel. About a month ago I found Mogul Mail and I'm totally sold haha. Can't perfectly articulate why that is, but I LOVE Mogul Mail!

I never really watched the streams pre switch, and definitely not after. But I watch Mogul Mail constantly because you're well articulated and informed and I think we generally agree on most things. I'm a little surprised you didn't consider part of the YT success a factor of new channel/already being bigger thanks to the success of 2021 (some of which came towards the last half of 2021 thanks to subathon). I think the switch was successful but I don't think it was as big as the numbers say. Doing a bunch of cool events does help a lil too. I watched the Ludwig invitational, Ima watch chess boxing, and a couple other events too that I feel like (subathon aside) didn't happen in 2021. Basically i think you should honestly give yourself more credit for going through with awesome ideas like Mogul Mail, Smash Invitational, Boxing Chess, etc and also having a seemingly better worklife balance.

I love all the stuff you do and definitely don't want to downplay anything else, but lowkey Mogul Mail was the biggest W to come out of the swap for me. I love the casual style content and hearing you just speak about stuff

I have hope for the chessboxing event in terms of most viewed stream. I'm hella hyped for it, and i'm sure a lot of people are going to tune in because of how much ground it covers in terms of trending topic and personnel involved.

The best thing coming of this is that Ludwig is someone who (appears) close to the dev team and can help push KZfaq live in the right direction. As for your goals, at least you beat Hasan!

Until you moved to KZfaq, I had never watched a KZfaq stream. I watched your twitch streams all the time and many other twitch streamers. When you made the switch, you were more than worth following over to KZfaq and as a mobile viewer who doesn’t chat much, it was a much more pleasant experience in this car. Never wanted you to make the switch, but now I am so happy you did. Plus the content and events you are able to put more effort into instead of just twitch face time for the camera really shows a huge increase in quality of content

It depends on certain creators. I know that people always say not to look at the numbers when streaming regardless if you're a big or small streamer. And that it's rude to look at viewer count but it's hard to not look and I've noticed that some creators had their viewership plateau. Or their viewer count isn't as much as when it was on Twitch. That being said, it's also nicer to have an easier backtracking in the stream while the person is streaming. There's less lag and latency delay on KZfaq than on Twitch. It's also nice that livestreams are permanent on the channel until the owner deletes/privates them. I do miss that I can't really share the clip *of* the streamer unless it's with a link. I don't think I've been able to search for clips other than going into my own dashboard. Clips need to be revamped for sure. It be nice to be able to use emotes from membership channels all throughout KZfaq because I paid for them and it also promotes the streamer that I'm watching/supporting.
