I'd still give this relatively new certification program some time; until the industry catches up. Then we can understand it's value better. Say, in the next 5-8 years? Thanks 4 the helpful review.

Would you recommend taking the Google Course with the mindset to do the CAPM afterwards? Someone I listened to said you can apply the hours worked towards your Google Certificate towards your CAPM.

Would you recommend a Project+ certification before the CAPM? I don't see many videos of people talking about this certification.

Is there a separate course for capm? Or do you think taking the course is still decent enough to teach the basics to someone completely new as a step towards the capm?

I agree with this 100%. I completed this professional certificate and applied for numerous entry-level roles (WITH a bachelor's degree) and I couldn't even land an interview. I worked with career coaches to make sure my resume was amazing but, NOTHING! I am studying for my CAPM and there's so much I've learned that wasn't included in the Google program, unfortunately. I Love Google but, I wish employers recognized it more.

I am so sorry you had that experience. Considering you have a bachelors makes them claims of this certificate even more misleading. Wishing you the best of luck! Something great is coming your way!

May I ask what type of PM and in what industry? I’ve been focusing on software implementation roles in healthcare with some success… i have no certifications and “only” have an A/S although I plan to obtain a PMP. It probably helps however that I have 13 years of healthcare leadership experience…. I hate to say it but a lot of technical project managers, senior level PMs and directors who are often in charge of hiring have the philosophy of if I have a PMP you should have it to.. if I have a bachelors you should have it to… if it took me 10 years to break into the industry it should take you 10 years as well..i’ve been apart of hiring decisions and have over heard senior level employees arguing this with HR. HR however may think your résumé looks great but someone at the senior level doesn’t think your qualifications are “deserving “ of the opportunity or salary 😬 there’s a lot of messy folks at the top out there especially in this field since a lot of what people perceive as great experience is COMPLETELY subjective if the PM role for which your applying is not really specialized/technical

You said you did in 3 months a year ago. So you did it all quicker?😅

I've read thru it and it can be "done in 3 months if you do 20 hours a week, 6 months if you do 10 hours a week."

@@roxannerodriguez7075 when you say "read thru it", did you mean study it only to pass the exam or did you actually learn the material as you went through it meaning you can implement it so that you're job ready? If not, what is your strategy on actually learning the information ℹ️? It is sounding more like an Olympic power reading or a crash course rather than effective training.😁
