I applaud the festival vendors for the extreme efforts they go through for this event. It must be much more costly and physically challenging to pay the restaurateurs for cooking the food, and then they have to physically haul it to the site. What happens when they run out of food? They must be very passionate about this annual event and could not wait another decade.

I live in Italy vicariously by watching your videos every Sunday morning! It's become a thing with me and my two barn dogs! It's so funny when my dogs hear yours barking they go tearing off barking like crazy looking for the dogs they know they've just heard! Then they'll come running back into the barn and look at me like... Are we crazy? We know we just heard dogs barking! I connect my sweet little tablet to my Bose speaker for really good sound and picture! Carlo you cracked me up when you said what smells so good!? And then pointed out that Nicki didn't remember carrying up the box of dog food on her head!!! Lol😂. But you still love her anyway despite her memory loss!! Haha! You did a fantastic job of making a good meal for your dogs. Our Westie, Willow, is on a raw food diet. My husband and I are true believers of a well-balanced diet for our dog. She is now six years old and has a beautiful, white, soft coat. We give her a raw egg three times a week and also give her coconut oil. I love the relationship you two have. Yes, I am forgetful at times. So many things going on in my brain at the same time.

I make homemade yogurt frequently using an Instant Pot. It’s so easy! My Instant-pot actually has a “yogurt” button. It keeps the mix at the proper temp for 24 hours. I use 1/2 gallon of whole milk with 1/4 cup of whole milk plain yogurt as the starter. Delicious!

There was also another food festival today in another small town in chianti classical . region. celebration of food, wine, and seasonal change is part of the life of this area. I have been coming here since 94. I strongly recommend that You visit this area when you have your place in Tuscany

Nicki & Carlo...keepin it real! There's a great book called "The Forever Dog" by Rodney Habib that focuses on homemade nutritionally balanced food. INCREDIBLE information! Adding even 10% of real whole food to your doggies bowl can have a profound effect on their health. 🐾🐾💖

The festival was super fun to watch. You both really do live a charmed life. I know that it has its ups and downs, but OMG, Positano is magical.

Butter is easy to make in a blender - take heavy cream and blend 2-10 minutes until cream separates into butter and buttermilk - pour off buttermilk, add some water or ice to wash the butter and add salt if you want - that's butter!

Nicki and Carlo, it's always treat to watch your vlogs because your content is worth enjoying and learning in many ways. Today, I learnt a new yoghurt recipe from you and thank you for that. I would also like to share some facts about yoghurt from India. We call it 'dahi' (pronounced as 'da-hee') in Hindi language. Dahi is eaten daily across India, mainly in breakfast or lunch, either as it is or with sugar/jaggery or as an ingredient in cooking. Since Dahi is a daily food, it is prepared every day. The process is mostly the same as you explained. We preserve a spoonful of the culture from the previous day's batch to make a fresh batch, spread the culture at the bottom of the container (we normally use steel or clay pots for earthy flavor) and pour warm milk on top of it and close the lid. The container is either kept with a cloth wrapped on it or in a warmed microwave or oven like your method. For making the original culture at home, my mom used tamarind pulp. One more interesting fact from our Hindu culture is that when a relative leaves our home after a stay, we do a prayer and feed them Dahi mixed with sugar as a token of their peaceful journey back home. Nicki, I’ve also been making yogurt; I’ve been making it for 19 years now. I never buy yogurt anymore. Just set aside your two tablespoons from your batch of yogurt and use this as your starter for the next batch!
