Washing and detangling my hair in sections is a game-changer. But I don’t use a stronger shampoo based on how dirty my hair is. I pretty much use a conditioning cleanser (co-wash) no matter how long it’s been since I last washed my hair. Every blue moon I will use a moisturizing shampoo, especially if I’ve gone swimming. The only time I use a clarifying shampoo is if I am going to flat iron my hair. I avoid drying out and stripping my hair as much as possible.

For example, I really enjoy letting the shampoo penetrate my scalp I personally don't like using scalp message I just use my fingers and message it in. This has help me massively Defo not rushing your routing links with not waiting for something to be fixed When you consistentlyattend to your hairs needs your washday will be shorter even when you take your time. There were 2 types of girls, those who didn't want to get their hair wet at the beach and those who didn't care. You can get which one I am. Pure tomboy. I decided to just live in my reality. My reality is that I don’t live a life that facilitates straight hair and I’m not getting a relaxer. So washing my hair once or twice a week, using mouse and/or gel and coming it through and sitting under a dryer for 30min-1 hour is my reality and I don’t try to fight against it. I was trying to do all the extra with rollers and comb twists and getting frustrated because I didn’t have the time or patience, and when I stopped and just lived in my reality, my hair started flourishing and I started to get all these unexpected compliments 😅 Hair confidence is real! When my hair is long enough for rollers, twists or more complicated styles that make sense for my time and skill set, that will be my new reality, but doing what works for my hair and lifestyle right now has really been a game changer, as well as washing frequently and not letting my hair dry up due to laziness.

Great tips and I concur. My pre-poo consists of only water and a little rinse out conditioner. Does the trick all the time. @marleyhill34 Ай бұрын
@@karmikarm1079 ok. You do you boo. There's a reason why other people with all hair types say that Olaplex tore up their hair and there's a lawsuit. Ain't no marketing blurb on a website gona convince me to use a product that has silicone as the second ingredient and the bond builder ingredient in it weekly as my main moisture deep conditioner. We already had this foolishness with Innersense when people don't read the ingredients of what they put on their hair. But as I said you do you boo. I hope you use a clarifying shampoo to remove the silicone build up at some point because a co-wash or a mild moisture shampoo isn't going to remove it. I use a clarifying shampoo every 4 to 6 weeks. That's enough for me.

Maybe pre poo is for people with very thick hair. (Sorry if I said it incorrectly) I have 3c or whatever thin hair. It really depends on how thick your hair is. I don't have to untangle my hair before washing . I part my hair in two. Put a bit of oil at the ends if they are dry. I never use a comb. Just my fingers and hands and make two twists. I shampoo each separately, rinse each separately. Then I put conditioner in each twist separately and rinse each separately and thoroughly. The water untangles my hair, it can do yours if you allow it to😊. Patience. I have had success with doing it this way. Washing your hair in the shower means the hair that is shedding no matter how small will build up and clog the drain. Plumbers are expensive where I live😊 I wash my hair in a sink with a strainer to catch the stray hairs. So my head is over the sink. Parting my hair in two and washing it this way works for me. It stopped my breakage. Maybe parting it in 4 will work better for very thick hair. I find its less work and less breakage. If I have to use a comb, I towel dry my hair leaving a bit of moisture. I wait until I massage my scalp with a few drops of oil on my fingertips, separating my hair into 8 twists, 4 on each side , adding leave-in conditioner on each and let it air dry by going for a walk. I use a very large tooth comb to then do any untangling of my hair starting at the ends. I hope this helps someone.

I neglect my hair all the time 🥴 but I’m not a big complainer, in my defense! I could definitely do with washing more often, but the issue with every week is that I just don’t like my freshly washed hair for about 2-3 days! So weekly I would get only 3-4 days of hair that is behaving when styling before I wash again?! Freshly washed hair is clean, but it doesn’t do what I want it to do 😮‍💨
