@@roselife4309lol sometimes I wonder whether or not if mine is actually 4c. My hair is so naturally dry . I try to work with it by doing hot oil treatments, deep conditioning, and leave in conditioner.I just need to figure out how to maintain the moisture

Sisssssss that ripping sound when you’re taking out the cornrows are killing me. Idk how anyone can leave braids in for so long 😭😭. Please love your hair before you lose it.

I had braids in when I gave birth to my newborn. I was completely thrown off guard by how hard it was gonna be for me with PPD and I ended up not taking the braids out for 3 months and had a tough time detangling it. But it got done. I’m just saying this to say we don’t know what someone is going through 🤷🏽‍♀️

Well since you asked for hair tips... girl I got you. One- use Pure Royal products... you'll thank me later. They are the best. Two- please comb your hair gently... if big sections don't work, comb in small sections. Initially my hair was like this before it got to collarbone length... it was horrible... but as it gets longer, the easier it becomes because you will master your hair. Three- twists are a serious recommendation. I know you say they tangle up your hair, but I would kinda disagree. Maybe the products you use cause your hair to dry too quick. I used to hair super dry 4c hair that I thought it was 4d as well. Until I used Pure Royal Scalp Treatment and Revlon leave-in conditioner. Deep conditions are a must do every wash day. I prefer not detangling my hair when the deep conditioner is on. I usually detangle my hair before I initially wash it with water in my hair then twist it up...GENTLY. I'm sure you'll be okay. Please don't relax or cut your hair... many people would die to have hair like yours.

Next time try spraying your hair with some water, add cheap Suave conditioner and olive oil. Cover with a plastic cap for about 30 mins to let them penetrate your strands and then start taking down the braids and detangling!

Hey girl I recommend you pre detangling your hair before your wash with coconut oil and finger detangle your hair in 4 or more sections. Keep your hair into 4 parts and wash the 4 parts individually. I never use a curl to feta gel my hair bc it allows more breakage, it’s ruff on your hair and we need to love our ends and our hair. Finger detangling with allow it to define your curls and you’ll notice your hair will start to retain length and easier to manage over time. Just take your time. Also use water based products ! I enjoy urban hydration my hair loves this brand !

I put warm water on my hair when I have a bath, it keeps the hair moisturised even when protective styling, it has also reduced tangling and killed the breakage. I wash every week or every other week whilst the hair is in braids and wash loose and detangle once a month.

it’s not so much the texture of your hair that’s causing it to behave the way it does, it’s your lack of taking care of it and maintaining healthy hair.

You have gorgeous thick hair, I really hope you decide to keep it natural. Try washing your hair in sections to prevent it from tangling back up again and causing breakage. Deep condition by leaving the deep conditioning mask for 30-45 mins, use a heat cap/hooded dryer for 15 mins on medium heat with a plastic bag to really help the moisture penetrate. Incorporate a good hair butter into your moisture routine to ensure the moisture lasts. It takes a while and trial and error to get a good solid routine, please don't give up, you'll get there eventually. It took me one full year to perfect my wash day but I did it every two weeks consistently. All the best sis ❤️

I'm so excited to have found this video because I always knew something was off with my hair. I'm natural, but sometimes I do wear protective styles here and there. I've spent hundreds on products that people say works for 4c hair. None of those worked, so I found out my porosity quickly. It's medium. My hair hits past my should blades, but when it's drenched, it looks completely different from 4c hair. It shrinks up so bad 5 minutes after I finish washing and it tangles. Gels do not work, creams do not work, even stylist are a little confused, what makes it even worse is that I have eczema too😭😭😭

Never leave your hair till it gets to a state like that again and always wash in between so it's getting often care and is used to being cared for and treated and so it's not so tangly, tender, rough, dense and whatever you said in the video x

Hey, your hair is defs 4c. It looks like mine. Start using protein free products in your hair to increase moisture. Wash& Deep condition once a week for a few months or up to a year. Also do the LCO method after washing your hair. That’s liquid (leave-in, cream, oil(preferably grapeseed or sweet almond oil). I also learned my hair this year and there’s been extreme improvement. Hope this helps❤️. Check KZfaq for how to cause for 4C low porosity hair & also how to fix protein overload. And spray your hair every other day or every day with water, oil and leave in mixture
