Thanks a lot! We have the same hair. I think I'll try it your way. I also bought the small eco styler gel from U.K on eBay. So we probably can relate. When I tried it for my sleek bun the hairstyle didn't last for a long time. My hair felt week. I only used Oil but I'll try to use a moisturizer. My fav is curl enhancing smoothie by Shea moisture. I'll try it out thanks. 😊

I tried the Eco Styler Argan one over the weekend and actually love it! It's been about 4 days and the hair still looks good... it's actually less crunchy (which I'm happy about). I'm gonna try this one too and see if it's any different.

I can only suggest using a small amount and rub it in until it's absorbed, use it before any oils as well. I use to get flakes from coconut curling cream until I used less x

I've used it but I didn't put in all the stuff I normally do. I just put in my moisturizer and then put in the gel. I figured since it already had black castor oil in it I didn't need anymore. I love that it made my hear very soft and non-flaky. Your hair turned out cute.

not fond of the "wash n go" for my 4c hair bc that regime is too time consuming. Try this- on 80% dry hair -mix styler and gel, add to hair then add shea butter. create 12-14 huge twists bantuing (made up a word lol) the ends. The next morning untwist and fluff... lasts for 5 days and spritz with water and oil to remoisturize as needed.

Ms. SG My 4C hair is not easy to manage once dry. It is okay but I notice I can really work with it while wet. So, my question to you is do you a) apply ANY product to it after washing while allowing it to reach the 80% dry mark and b) do you twist the hair down while waiting on it to dry after washing?

Gborochick1979 .... sometimes stretch my hair like Zig but mostly I put on Giovanni Direct leave-in then a qtr size of oil or shea butter then section with my hands, twist down and cover with a tshirt to take out all excess water.....

Essence Hood yes. My hair isn't freshly washed, nor is it soaking wet like a traditional wash n go hence, dry.

New subbie 💕🙌🏽 I just did this yesterday and I love the gel 😍 and I got A bit of definition however it takes so long to dry and as you said because of the glycerin it separates the curls ☹️ but Ima still use it. Oh by the way can I ask where you bought your micro fiber bonnet /towel?

You have such a lovely calming way of explaining things! :) I washed my hair and moisturised it last night and didn't get around to gel (plus I don't like going to sleep with it still wet in my hair) so I think I'll do a quick 're wet and gel like this this morning, so it can comfortably dry and form whilst I go about my Saturday ^^ x

I tried to mix these two products the cantu cream and the gel on my hand and it clumped I didn't even try it mix the two, but I'm glad that it works for you. I love the smell of this gel

Kandice Harris Try mixing the gel with oil . I find that all the Eco styler gels don't mix well with creams.

Recently bought the Eco Styler gel coconut oil and did a test patch on my dry side burns (haha), to see if it would work and it did! Now I can't wait to try it on my whole head. P.S. Your hair came out beautifully 👌

Beautiful results. I have type 4 hair and never seem to achieve a wash and go on wet hair. I am going to try the dry hair technique following your method and see if this makes a difference. Stay blessed!

What type of gel and brush did you use at the end to lay down your edges ? Love the results, I gave up after failing at my first section of hair haha. :D

aww no! I'm a stubborn person me haha. I used blueberry bliss control paste and an annie boar brush, i've added links to the description. I must say I more 'smooth' than 'lay' no point in forcing my edges to do something they won't! Thanks for watching xxx

You have beautiful hair! Have you ever tried Hair N'tuition's She Knows Curly Cream. It would take care of those stubborn patches that won't curl and the dryness. They have a KZfaq video for it.

Great video! My question is, how do wash and goes hold up in a club setting where it's packed and really hot? Especially after stretching, fluffing etc. How well does it hold up? Does it shrink or elongate? I would love to see you tubers addressing that side of things when it comes to our natural hair styles!

you should follow me on instagram! I have gone to fitness class with a wash n go- it's all about the layering for me personally to limit shrinkage. I say limit because quite frankly its what our hair does, and as the days go on it will shrink and then I'll need to wash it. I'll do a top tips wash n go for sure x

Your texture and length are very close to my own. I love to do defined styles, but I tend to avoid them due to single strand knots. Did you notice an increase in ssks with this style? If not, then how do avoid them?

Hi Tiffanie- yes I do notice an increase in ssks, I tend to only do coil defining styles in warm dry weather which is basically once a year LOL I wear my hair in a stretched state predominately and add castor oil to my ends so I don't get ssks when its stretched. However after a 'wash n go' I always section my hair and go straight under the water I don't try and detangle in this state I just wash, deep condition and just before I rinse out the DC is when I detangle in sections to minimise knots/breakage/tangles hth x

do you think 4c hair needs gel to smooth their roots for twist or a wash n go

for a twist out definitely not, but (if I'm understanding correctly) for a wash n go it's preferable to get root to tip definition so you'd want to use a gel as you'll get a better hold, so you would smooth at the roots but not lay them, but there's so many methods and products out there x

A Dry Wash & Go means no water. That is how I do my Wash & Go's. You need more oil to give your hair some shine. I use GIOVANNI DIRECT LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER with 7 drops of Argan Oil, 7 drops of Jojoba Oil, and Grapeseed Oil mixed in my leave-in.

A Lewis if possible try it with the gel from Dollar tree. Lusti curl wave twist gel. It does an excellent job of defining curls. Yes for 4b/c hair

Kendra Gibbs traditional wash n go are done on sopping wet freshly washed hair mine was on old dry hair.
