Waste oil drip feed heater

Waste oil drip feed had to be shut down because it was fixing to explode because of the gas vapors from the feed tube. I've got ideas to easily fix it. I plan to seal the door, move it away from the wall and window, modify the fuel and air manifolds. I also plan to try this burner without the blower. After final testing, I will install the chimney pipe. It got extremely hot and melted the fans and window frame. A lot of the ideas came from Gunma-17.

Was thinking the same, maybe he could make a shield from scrap drywall and tinfoil. It needs a good blower fan to move the heat out of that area. Next time adjust the drip feed for the weight of oil, and it will also likely increase the feed rate as it heats up. 🤔

Terrible execution building this. The door needs strapping welded to the perimeter to seal the door better. Second the stove pipe should never have a negative pitch. Thirdly the fuel should never enter above the lowest point. This is the worst oil burner I have ever seen by a long shot. I like the idea of using a 100# bottle but…….. 😮

Dude oil is okay to burn as long as the drip isnt to excessive, if your drip is feeding too guicke the gas with produce quicker from burning too much oil. Change the feed tube for a smaller drip, because what that red metel will do is melt every time you get it red hot you make the metal softer and softer. Until 1 day you turn it red and the entire front melts onto the floor, this is also the reason why gas boilers the make glass or cook coal have a shelf life of 30 years its thicker metal but unfortunately companies sometimes neglect the equipment like redfurns in monk bretton england that melted a boiler in 2017-18 it also dropped 40 tuns of molten glass across the factory, nobody was injured but the factory was shut for a month while they had a new boiler fitted

Actually I knew a guy that had a garage that that heated this way. Write NFG on it with welding chalk. He died of cancer fairly young. Brake dust doesn’t do you any good either.

Too much fuel bud - this is why you need to test your fuel feed so that you can set it 30% below what would send it into overrun

@@fritzsnickerz855 that's still down to unregulated fuel. Whether it's thin, or thick - an electric pulse type pump stops this happening.

My uncle had a oil drip heater for years but his supply line came in level about 4 inches of the ground and 12 feet long . It dried into a stainless pan inside a 1/4 inch metal box 3x3x3 with a 8 inch nipple into a 3x3x3 box with a 4 inch vent pipe going straight up. Worked great.
