Personally I think all the big grading companies have conflicts of interest that aren't public and would be near impossible to verify. For example employees or executives of the company selling graded stuff through another person, which of course they probably had graded slightly more favorably than deserved. I think wata is the most egregious one but some consignment companies on eBay have been caught scamming too. Wata seems to be super greedy, making money off of grading plastic and cardboard wasn't enough, they had to rig the whole market. What fuckers.

Lots of shady practices by numerous parties and companies here. HA founders posting their collectibles, with no intention to sell, just to maintain and pump up their value pisses me off to no end. I would love to see this lawsuit and possibly others go to court, hold discoveries and then bring the whole house of cards down. I can only imagine what that could to do the value of all these graded collectibles: comics, cards, video games, etc. I know that would impact the average graded collector. Sadly we have to be realistic about this going anywhere.

I think there is enough there to get it before a judge.

These so-called “collectors” who are really only speculators have made the market into their little farm for wealthy jackasses only. I’m really sorry you have no reasonable, legal means of playing your PS1 games again. I’m hoping that when this bubble bursts, you can afford to get your collection back.

Not just Wata, but any collectors, along with the grifters and drifters that are into sealed and graded collecting. Yeah, they're 100% free to collect that, but I'm also 100% free to say they're freaking idiots, especially if they think some of those rare but horrible games are going to be worth money in the future. Plus, many PS1 games aren't worth what they are going for now, especially the ones that got Greatest Hit releases. I mean, Square Enix was apparently still selling new PS1 games into the late 2000's and early 2010's from what I've heard, and I've seen it for PS2 and some PSP games into the middle 2010's. So, scumbags are just hording a lot it.

Wata is to blame for you selling your collection. Shame on them. You should file a civil suit against them.

People sometimes open theirs and resubmitted it to try to get a higher score so they can sell it for more.

Not that I ever heard of, however I would anyone that buys one would not be inclined to open it because of fear of it losing value potentially.

@@richterbelmont5506 yeah I know. I grabbed most of my cib collection right before the price spike. And I just did it because I wanted to add some box art to my collection and display. I’d like to have more but I’ll wait until it’s less popular. Collecting is a life long hobby for me, always has been. I can wait out the craze.

@@richterbelmont5506 but you know what that’s ok that it’s going to take more time because once we collected what we want then the fun fades. I know it’s not fun to pause because of these prices hikes. It just shows that us and everyone else that collects for nostalgia and not for monetary/investment gain won’t pay these outrageous prices and I think in the end that’s what’s going to drive the prices back down and put the games back into the peoples hands who really appreciates these games for what they truly are. I’d rather give all my games away to someone who appreciates them for what they are, then sell them to someone who sees them as an investment.

I suspect that prices are going to drop for some things hard, some things may stay higher but I don't see prices staying high for most things.

Dude I sent in a copy of resident evil 2 sealed (dreamcast) last year under the 45 day window and it took over 7 months to get my game back. That real shitty part is like 2-3 weeks after I sent my game in that video dropped of them being scummy
