The Western Cape Forensic Pathology Service on Monday said the bodies recovered most recently from the George building collapse site were in a state of decomposition.
During a media briefing, Floyd Herwels, the assistant director at the forensic pathology service in George, said they faced challenges with visual identification and relied on scientific methods such as fingerprinting and DNA matching.

The company should be able to account for who was on the site on the day of the collapse, who are they? and where they are from? as well as have next of kin contact details. But because we are dealling with mafia's who refuse to do things by the book to cut costs we have this situation right now. Very tragic.

Oh Father have mercy on the families that lost their loved ones. May you be their advicate so they sre not cheated and bullied. May the st least get proper care for the trauma and compensation to bury their loved ones with dignity. This is so sad and heartbreaking. No one deserves to die like that

It’s important to note that most of the people working on site were foreigners. May their souls rest in peace 🙏🏼 we know that everyone is trying to make means to feed their families during these tough times. However, these so-called qualified individuals & companies deliberately hire foreigners as these individuals probably are not legal in the country & are desperate so they’d be willing to settle for lower wages than what a legal, qualified South African would. I blame nobody else but the contracting companies who simply want to exploit the people who work the hardest, while they sit back & relax with fat pockets!! These people work extremely hard in an effort to survive & provide for their families & now they’ve lost their lives! All for what? The bare minimum! Money is not the root of all evil, it’s the LOVE of money that is! I pray that God deals with each & every crooked individual, not only in this case but the 100s of cases in this country where the exact same happens!!

Looks like failure of temporary support... 1. the building fell from inside into itself, and 2. construction was still in progress.

Its rubble , its diffucult to remove its scaffolding , bricks , boulders and cement , its impossible to just put in front end loaders its got to be broken down, i think these people done more then their best. Concentrate on the firm who built the place and not the rescuers

Like the other commenter said. Its not just bricks. It is layers and layers of concrete meshed with steel and equipment all fused together. Also they are being careful not to harm any persons still alive or further maiming the bodies
