@@djstarsign I think Jojo was correctly cast and beautifully acted by Roman. And I agree Archie stole his scenes with his obvious love of the camera and easy going nature. But also with the great dialogue meant to endear him to the audience. Who can hate children just doing what was expected of them, even though it was terrible. The 2 were perfectly paired. Roman mentions anxiety and ocd, both are things very relevant to Jojo's story arc. Archie was just comfy and nonplussed given all the chaos. A perfect straight man to a frantic Jojo.

Taika did want a flashback scene in Ragnarok where you’d see Asgard when Thor and Loki were 12, apparently it was gonna look very 80’s inspired, Thor would be fat and Loki would be an emo kid so he could try and reinsert that scene into Love And Thunder although it would probably make Fat Thor look like Thor relapsed in Endgame due to his depression

According to Taika Waititi they selected the actors partially based on how similar to their characters they already where. This is actually a great way to get good kid actors, because the kids have to do less acting and get to mostly be themselves. So it's easier for them, more real for the audience, and less, well, generic child actor-ishy. By which I mean not that great.

Looks like my point is quite moot as Roman Griffin Davis carries the entire movie (not that other actors aren't phenomenal as well, I say what I do because he's the main character). And it's his first ever movie, and he absolutely kills it, and he's definitely not just being himself because the scenes he's in aren't everyday things that happen to all little boys. He can't just "be himself" for them. He's got to do real adult acting.

When in reality they had to do a ton of really good acting.
