Jail is corrosive. He would come out more damaged than he is now. Sad but true. Jail is noisy even at night; he will feel crushed. He prefers dark; cell lights on 24/7. Not an environment conducive to rehabilitation.

Every human is an individual, no matter their age or behavior. For legal reasons we have to categorize, so we've got this "kid", clearly troubled. Lacking in parental love and guidance. He chose his path with the fractured tools he had, right? But still...he chose. He was capable of choosing. Now we've got the Miller case law. I agree with the state's argument that this "kid" was NOT delusional, nor was he legally insane. He idolized other school shooters. He completely understood what he planned to do, and in his cruel way of thinking he transitioned from a cruel animal torturer, to a murderer of humans. By CHOICE, he did all that. Was he a troubled kid without proper parenting? Hell yes! But was he legally insane then or now? Hell no. He's the bad guy in the classroom. There's at least one in every crowd.Putting him away for life is the only resolution at this point. What do you think he will turn out to be after 25 years in prison, then released? Even if it's only for the animals which he admits he would take joy in torturing...he is simply NOT worth it.

I’m not defending his actions, but this kid was failed by his parents. They were so involved in their own lives that they missed all the cues that Ethan was going down a very dark path, even ignored it.

In my opinion, only hurt and misguided people commit crimes like this and while severe punishment and retribution is in order, long jail sentences are inhumane. I think he should get a short stint in jail, the victims families can take a few punches at him, he gets rehabilitated and has to pay the victims who he killed family's for the rest of their lives since he owes them now. Only angry, unloved, misguided people who aren't channeling their baser instincts productively commit acts of violence like this. It's not fair to further torture an unloved abused and neglected human being for extended periods of time. He does owe the families for life but he should be rehabilitated and given love. His mother taught him that guns are cool, he was not taught any solid values or ethics. How could people seriously want to throw this human in jail for life, has Nazzi Germany not taught us anything? Any human is capable of evil and of being changed.

If that boy does not get life without parole, he will be under 57 years old. He murders animals and children because he doesn’t want them to grow up and live a decent and happy life. He will do it again due to his pure hatred for his pathetic excuse of parents. He wasn’t able to live a happy life, why should and baby bird or child. If he gets out, the children will get younger. He enjoys listening to them scream in pain. I hope he never gets out. I do feel badly for him on one hand because if his parents treated him with love and care, this would never have happened.

I Absolutely Disagree..He Showed Zero Mercy For Any Of His Victims, He Literally Said It Himself, He Knows He Deserves To Spend The Rest Of His In Prison Enjoying Knowing All The Suffering He Caused To Oxford. He Is A Sac Of S%#t!!
