Hi Samantha, I really appreciate the accuracy, attention to detail and quality of all your work. I am sure it takes more time than is apparent from the videos. As a novice I can only struve to achieve a similar level. One challenge I have had is finding pens that provide a good line when tracing patterns and that do not wash off when grinding. Can you recommend pens for this use? Thank you.

Hi! Thank you so much - this is what I use, and it stays on while grinding. amzn.to/3YPs8re

@@SamanthaAshleyGlass all your patterns are "simple" and yet so beautiful and the perfect combinations of colors. i love it

Thanks again, there's definitely beauty in simplicity - and choosing the colorway for my pieces is one of my favorite steps of the process!

Very nice, I wonder how well it holds up over time in wind.

Thank you! And not sure, that's why I recommended everyone who bought them to hang them indoors. 😉 I wouldn't consider these "wind chimes." Better to be safe than sorry.

Do you sell your patterns? I think alot of folks would buy them! You're super talented!

Aw thanks! I'm actually planning to start selling my patterns soon. I like to get my use out of the design first - if that makes sense.

Hi Sam, Do you use your thumb when you cut? Is it for directing the cutter or for pressure? Thanks 😊
@SamanthaAshleyGlass
@SamanthaAshleyGlass 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, I use my thumb to guide the cutter. The cutter head on the Toyo pistol grip cutter pivots, so I like to help move it along in the direction I need.

Does the beetle bits come with that sliding straight edge cutter. I am looking at the pics on Delphi and I don’t see the slider
@SamanthaAshleyGlass
@SamanthaAshleyGlass 3 жыл бұрын
It depends which kit you buy. If you're on Delphi, you want the "complete beetle bits start-up system"

Can you add links to where you purchase your hobby came from, the lead vice, the chains you use for hanging, as well as the polish? Thanks!

Hi! I buy all of my supplies from a ton of different places, but you can find just about everything on delphiglass.com or etsy.

What are the lead nippers called? Do you have a favourite brand?
@SamanthaAshleyGlass
@SamanthaAshleyGlass 3 жыл бұрын
They're actually just wire cutters that I got from Harbor Freight, lol. I don't do a lot of lead work, except for the occasional framing with hobby came, so a cheap pair of wire cutters serves my needs.

I really enjoyed your video, very well filmed and very good instructions too! Question, where did you purchase the vice for stretching the hobby came? And, are you wearing a heat proof glove when soldering? Thank you
@SamanthaAshleyGlass
@SamanthaAshleyGlass 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I got the lead vice at a local stained glass shop (you should be able to find one at any online stained glass shop). When I'm soldering and will be holding a hot piece, I put on a heat resistant glove that's actually made for hair styling tools.

I noticed you have a sal block. That's not recommended for the hakko irons.

You are correct. I still use it though, I've been using it with this iron for four years without any issues.
