Yeah I have 4C hair that is ridiculously dense at the front of my head so I wash my hair in small single plaits to prevent tangles. Yes I have to detangle and switch up my parting but I it actually saves me time versus the alternative because the hair is in a smooth curled hold so a comb/brush goes through it like butter. I no longer have a bunch of breakage when combing through the whole afro after a wash. So I basically wash my hair as if it's in box braids now.

I am so glad you explained that thing about pictures I swear I look bomb AF and then I snap a pic and I"m like WTF. I never thought I took pictures well. Has to be at the right angle. The plus side is that everyone says I look better in person, which matters the most. Good styling tips. I just started letting my hair grow out to curl and I'm gonna add some things you are doing to lock in moisture cuz I have really dry hair.

It looks like your hair might be normal to low porosity like me, I recommend putting on leave in conditioner right after deep conditioner while in the shower or put a cap on it for 5-10 mins. Best feeling everrrrr

My hair never got that bad again but I have very poor management so it’s hard to keep it in tip top shape but I definitely try to detangle it a lot more as my curls are very tight & use deep conditioner
