Congrats Dennis, that's an awesome watch! You are on a tear man, I'm jealous! Personally I'm a huge Cartier fan and I have to say with the exception of the folded strap (that they do on every deployant) I really like the clasp on this one. And you nailed it on the bezel, one thing I wish they would do is use tungsten carbide for the polished bezel. Anyways, nice one!

The fold was odd for me and I struggled a bit to size it because naturally it wanted to fold where it was folded prior. I'm shuffling around some pieces with my collection. I traded my Ming in for those one so that took out most of the cost.

Beautiful Dennis, and all the better for having no date. Cartier just carry a certain style. I rarely wear it, but have the must 21 also with a deployment clasp. It was nowhere near as large or the price of your Santos, but still, is a nice watch and comfortable on the wrist.

I just couldn't get behind the Santos models with a date. I looked at several but didn't like any of them (that modern blue one was "okay"). Do you have one of the Must 21 watches with the time Roman numerals on the exterior bezel? Cartier really does some interesting designs. I guess that fits given they are best known for jewelry. I did think about a Tank at one point but I find them too similar to the Reverso to really want both. Square watches are polarizing for me. The Santos and the square G-Shocks I like, but things like the Monaco or the NOMOS Tetra just don't work for me.

@@WatcheswithDennis Yes Dennis. It is mostly bezel with gold embossed Roman numerals, and blued hands - of course. Sadly, it does have a date window at 6 o'clock. Even the men's model is only 35mm. Some square watches just don't gel.

This reference is 100 meters water resistant, so it is what I would call "swim grade" but not for diving.

Can this watch band switch to the stainless band??

I've read that it can (the 23.5mm wide bracelet) but don't have one to confirm.

@Watches with Dennis thanks for the reply. I was really looking into getting a santos. I need the bigger size one, because my wrist size is about 8.75in. I like the letter band but the stainless band is my favorite. It just sets the santos off imo..I can find a few santos 100 for my price range. But will need to buy the band separate in the future. I might need a few extra links to add on the bracelet also to fit my wrist. Me finding one my price and my size gonna be rare I guess

@@neilmartinez143 size. The 2656 is the XL model, 38mm wide and about 51 mm lug to lug. I think the 2878 is 33 x 44 instead.
