For all of you idiots glorifying Billy Preston......... While on probation for a drunk driving conviction in August 1991 Preston was arrested for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old Mexican boy, after picking him up at a gathering point for day laborers. The boy told authorities that Preston took him to his Malibu home, smoked cocaine, showed him pornographic pictures and tried to assault him before he escaped. Preston was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon involving a man he picked up to do work at his home, the day before his arrest in the case involving the boy.[29] After submitting to a drug test, Preston tested positive for cocaine. He was sentenced to nine months at a drug rehabilitation center and three months of house arrest. In 1992, Preston was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating his probation on a drunk driving conviction. In 1997, Preston was sentenced to three years in a California prison for cocaine possession in violation of his probation. He had been placed on three years' probation earlier that year after testing positive for cocaine use; under the terms he agreed to spend 90 days in jail. While in prison in 1998, Preston was indicted for a $1 million insurance fraud scheme after setting fire to his own house in Los Angeles. He pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against other defendants involved in the scam His plea called for five years of probation, one year in jail, and $60,000 in restitution. The probation and jail time ran concurrent with his cocaine possession conviction. At California's Avenal State Prison.

@@lalareal180 hey Mr Percect Angel, we are indeed glorifying Preston for his musical skills and talent, not for what he did outside of a studio or stage, which is not our business anyway. It does not diminish his greatness as a musician. Like saying Maradana was not one of the greatest because of his conduct and drugs addiction. Though we all may condemn these behaviors (as we are all saints btw...), it does not take anything away from them.

"You're giving us a lift Bill." "We've been doing this for days, y'know." Love how much fun Billy Preston seems to be having here. He was a legend, props to John and George for paying compliments to his fantastic playing because they're right. He's worked with the best in the industry and this is just further proof that his ability on the keys, especially here, is out of this world. It perfectly fits the groove/vibe of the track, I can't wait to stream this and see all of these elements play out in the next few days.

What I have always appreciated about The Beatles is their studio sessions were always about recording the 'group'. I know they did a lot of over dubs and experimented with the studio trickery of their time, but the core was always the ensemble. @@kristelpi652 just because she lived as an artist in New York and later in London through the sixties, I don't believe her. But also, consider that not only she was brought up to London by the Indica Gallery, an art initiative which was also a magazine that was created by John Dunbar and Peter Asher (Jane Asher's brother) and was funded by Paul McCartney. And just because that's not enough, it's confirmed by Paul that Yoko in 1966 wanted to have manuscripts to make them a gift for John Cage's birthday; she went to Cavendish Avenue in St. John's Wood to visit Paul's house to ask for the manuscript for the song 'The Word'. McCartney rejected that idea right on the door, because he needed permission from John to know what to do. Now, considering she lived in New York at the height of Beatlemania, moved to London thanks to an art collective founded by Jane Asher's brother (Jane Asher was Paul McCartney's girlfriend) and not only that, but that she contacted a Beatle to get one of his manuscripts to make it a gift, and was pointed that they needed the permission of both McCartney and Lennon to have it, you fully know well that she is lying and she knew of The Beatles.

Billy Preston, you legend. It's great that a young generation will get to see Billy Preston through this film. If you give him a Google you'll see he had a legendary career but said his favourite moment musically was on that roof with The Beatles.

Peter Jackson is a Director who put his mindset as a Beatles fan, & that's why he was so eager to share. This was a true Labor of Love & not something that was just slapped together as another documentary. (Though we would appreciate that as well) ! The added hours of footage could have been for "his eyes & ears only", but that's not how Peter rolls. That's why he took on this project in the first place. He is the ONLY person who made it possible for us remaining Beatles fans to see this footage in our lifetime. (Including Paul & Ringo) Not to mention the full restoration! If not for Peter, for sure it would have sat another half a century in the vault, which newer fans wouldn't "relate & appreciate" as much as us 1st generation fans.

It's so interesting to see the changes a song goes through before it's it's recorded and released as a finial product. The greatest band in history had to hammer out all the details to achieve a monumental sound. Billy Preston had a large part in that. He was the fifth Beatle!

I keep coming back to this. This music is amazing. It has been in my head all day. All the sounds, they just meld so well. "And from the first time that she really..." then the drums "done me". Something about that is just incredible. The cadence of it, maybe. The singer's voice. I always thought this was some cheesy boy band and never paid much attention. Granted it's a bit before my time. But this is the music I need in my life right now.

Its just incomprehensible that these four guys, having so much fun while creating ~THAT MAGICAL MUSIC ~ which was unique to them.... could, shortly afterwards, split up and never again join forces to record the music they were famous for. They gave us so much! But we still want more. I feel so fortunate to have lived through the entirety of THE BEATLES!

You're giving us a lift Bill! Geesh, Billy is really good. Just feeling it and playing without looking and adding his soul to the mix. He is a real instrumentalist and the Beatles knew it. But they met him before they were famous so that was a plus.

The fact that these videos are in HD emphasizes the timelessness of the Beatles.. It makes you feel that these are still happening these days, that they are still in some studio some somewhere and they are still in that age, and they are still working on more albums to come..

Because they were these rock giants it's amazingly inspiring to see them as this woodsheding garage band. No song is perfect straight away, so a good band must be collectively malleable to get it there. Brilliant

As a guitarist, I just love how they simply lean their guitars against the amp, foregoing a guitar stand. Us mortals would think that a novice no-no, but this is the Beatles. They can freakin do whatever they want, and still be in the right. I'm trashing my stand.
