Honda builds a great bike. I'm 65 years young my first vehicle was a motorcycle a 350 Honda. Since then I have always had a Honda bike. Even now I own a 2003 loaded Goldwing 1800 (absolutely bad ass machine). But to big to haul out and go to the store. Thinking about getting one for the neighborhood, I will use it more. plus 157mpg is nothing to piss at..

I bought the Chinese copy way back in 2003 50cc took that out put a cub 90cc with big bore kit now 110cc still semi auto 3 speed but great fun if I had the funds would add a 125 to my small collection RE interceptor and 1973 Honda CB 175 project.

I like the mods they've done to the 2022 version, but it looks like they've cheaped out on the painting side by only painting the tank and the shock springs, I love the way yours has bottom frame banana yellow and you can see the yellow shining through the gaps in the running gear, if you love the yellow, you want to see the yellow, such a shame..

Need to tighten that chain son.

I don't have one....yet! ....but I absolutely also believe, that they are the best motorcycles in the world! If I was ruler of the world, I would decree that all cars must be Suzuki Jimnys and all bike's should be honda monkey's, no-one shall drive a car with less than 1 passenger and public transport shall be mini road trains with open topped trailer carriages or closed winter ones.. 😅 I would not be the most popular ruler ever, but I think people would warm to me when they see how much better the roads are.. 😅

I've got one. Top speed us 57, and it does hold up a road traffic from time to time. Obviously the one on test is moddified, but even so a genuine 80mph indicated is impossible. I suspect the sprocket has been changed which is now causing the speedo to over read by a large margin. Be under no illusion, these are surprisingly capable little bikes, but on a and b roads you will be full throttle and rarely if ever doing the UK national limit. My one is unmodified, I have once made an indicated 62mph down hill, the speedo over reads a little, 31 is actually 29mph.

The bike before was a Harley-Davidson and i was a member of a Brotherhood, then i Saw the Monkey in a showroom and that was love at first sight. The Harley and Brotherhood i traded for the Monkey , best thing in my life !!!!! and now i ride free and happy as a Monkey with 7 cocks as we say that in the Netherlands. Much love ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍

That Honda Monkey looks naff compared to the stock Monkey because it has been fudged around. Ugly exhaust, top box, air box removed.

Selling my RnineT to get my wife through CBT and buy us a monkey each…..I think you’ll approve 😎 wanted to ask is that 80mph your getting out of that and if so what you had to change? And lastly I see that Honda do a rear rack as the only accessory but which type of rack and top box are you using because that looks like a good set up! Can you fit a helmet in that top box? Random question: Could you daily it? Like to and from work as well as going out and about? I don’t have any point of reference as I’ve not even done CBT training. Just I keep getting told I will quickly outgrow the Monkey and so it’s not worth it but I constantly keep coming back to it…

Why did you not make clear that the bike had a modified exhaust system ?

If it had a 150 cc engine and 15'' wheels, I'd be tempted. I live in Thailand most of the year and there are lots of 150 cc bikes. Dangerously underpowered as a 125. I test-rode one. Overpriced and impractical. I had to skim past the dire music.

EFI, ABS if it has that crap, and a 220 pound load capacity are all excellent reasons for not buying a Monkey.
