I started my major collecting when I sent my daily watch out for service! 1st it was one, but I couldn't decide between two Seiko divers. Both are Padi. Both are blue dials. One is the Padi Pepsi turtle and the other is the waved blue black gradient. I still love both. But then I needed a yellow dial diver (blue butterfly fish) an orange 3rd gen monster, a green dial Seiko Recraft and finally a Gundam Char 40th anniversary red dial tuna. Almost the rainbow.

Just want to add as an afterthought that it is definitely possible to create a great collection out of Seikos. The brand has model that ticks most of the boxes of what makes a great watch. However and naturally, it just feels that a onen brand collection would also missing out some of the good stuff that is not Seiko. This is definitely true at the luxury price range. I yearn for an Omega and a Rolex. However, at the sub 2-3K level, I would say that I may be curious enough to want to get a PRX or Hamilton, but nothing else. Anyway, thank you everyone for the comments!

I have a love hate relationship with Seiko. They have value for money watches. You can build a collection with just seiko, Everyday or beater, Chronograph, GMT, Field, Dress, and something fun. because of the very affordable prices of their watches you tend to buy more seikos than other watch brands. I have the same problem right now.

I'll do a non Seiko SOTC in due time. I do not think the fatigue or maybe plateau comes from Seiko really. I suspect it is just difficult to go to the next level of watches unless something drastic happens to my source of income.
