Watch This Before Changing WRX Fender Ornaments

Күн бұрынTried our hand at changing out the fender ornaments on the sides of the 2019 WRX STi to aftermarket gloss black ones purchased through SubiSpeed.
We made a big mistake the first time around installing these, pulling paint off the plastic fender piece by heating the panel up too much while trying to remove the factory ornaments, resulting in the need to purchase a new body part direct from Subaru and installing a second set of aftermarket fender ornaments.

Thanks m8, I’m installing a widebody and needed to take them off to get a straight cut on my fender. Much help in getting those off.

I like the black label with the red better. It looks almost as nice as the original silver one.

It ties in with the back on white contrast.

I found the paint on those side panels to be really weak in general. I put a vinyl overlay on my side panel and when i pulled it off the paint came loose and started pulling away as i pulled the vinyl off to replace it. Luckily it didnt come completely off but a clear indication that its not painted very well.

Yeah. It didn't take too much heat to remove paint.

pop off the first few clips on the side skirt first and youll have a much easier time removing the lower pop clips on that piece

Great video! Lots of good tips and lessons learned. Can you link the emblems you bought? I see multiple black ones on their site but not sure which you chose and I'd like to choose the same ones because it's hard to decide between them without good pics/videos, which this video solves :)

Got it from the Subaru dealership. It came painted.
