Saint Julian's is a town in the Central Region of Malta. As of 2020, its registered number of inhabitants stands at 13,792. It is situated along the coast, north of the country's capital, Valletta. It is known for tourism-oriented businesses, such as hotels, restaurants and nightclubs which are centred mainly in an area known as Paceville

Where you started walking looked like more Paceville area. St Julians promenade is lovely. Someone in thr chat mentioned you can't drink tap water. You can but most do drink bottled water. Also the Maltese language is as you said a mixture of Italian, French and Arabic but most do speak English. I have family in malta so have visit regularly. Glad you enjoyed your time there.

Thing i loved the best about that area of Malta was the 3x casinos all within 10min walk.. excellent for poker, also great nightlife. Cheap to get there from uk all in all, very good for a quick few nights break in the sunshine
