Back in 2007, I bought a friend's 2000 Procharged C5 Corvette with a 6spd with the cats removed. I didn't care for the smell, and had new cats installed. Didn't notice a drop in performance, but the smell went away. When I went to a k04 on my mk6 GTI last year, I got lucky with an APR catted downpipe that was still new in box(I was able to get an APR tune because it had the authorization code). No smell, and great power as well as sound. I picked up an mk6 Golf R in January, and found a used APR catted downpipe for it from a wrecked R, and well, you can see my choices for cat vs catless.

Nice. The power was definitely there. The smell was the main and the noise, especially now that I have AWE exhaust on there would be insane.

I’ve seen a few videos that give you a very slight increase in HP with the high flow and it still sounds awesome. I run a CTS HF on my S5

You could add a set of high flow cats right before your secondaries now, (with the catless headers) to get that sound youre looking for, without the smell

Great video! I personally think the catted sounds better than catless. The pops which i am not a big fan off did not sound quite as loud.

Is the IE performance better or about the same as the Pro-core?

The IE pro core is 400cpsi and the other is 200cpsi so better flow

Removing the cat should improve consumption as you'll get less exhaust gas in cylinder but you will get the smell

It doesn't. it will give better performance, which is why I went with high flow cat

I just put long tube headers on & it smells so bad can it make you sick just driving it around i’m kinda not liking it at all

Tune to E85, you get that 🌽 smell a lot better for the nose and HP 😂

Catless can really mess you up if you smell the fumes long enough when driving be aware that you can be exposing yourself to carbon monoxide fumes

@SportGuyDMV there's smell but very faint. There's definitely performance but catless is even crazier.
