I got a *P0410* thinking, my air pump was going bad. I could hear the relays working so I knew two things right off the bat, it was getting power to the relays and they were working. After turning the car on when it was cold (air pump comes on for first 40 seconds if those conditions are met), I could instantly hear it humming smoothly like a vacuum cleaner. So I was like what heck?? Looked closer and realized my lower actuator, the one you pointed out, had a broken vacuum line that broke when my serpentine belt also broke and was cutting everything in its path including my vacuum line. SOB I thought. I just took out the small piece that was still on the actuator and plugged the leftover slack I had....fit like a glove! No code since and it was *FREE99!*

Good to know, thanks for sharing! Few years back I actually diagnosed a bad front sam module on one mercedes. It did not turn on the air pump.

I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 2.4 it's causing my plugs to foul out engine may run smooth and then start running rough

2009 C300. I Replaced both vacuum control valves on mine as well as the secondary air pump as well as the check valve. Zero exhaust coming out of the hose when engine is warm. Secondary pump working great, turns off after about 45 seconds when engine is cold. Dang engine light still coming on after a few run cycles. P0410 code. Also replaced the fuse and the relay. Any ideas?

You may have carbon deposits plugging up passages in the head, I haven’t seen it on this particular model but I have on others, with the valves open and hoses to the pump disconnected do you get good exhaust flow throw the valve

@@EuropeanAutoRepair checked both valves for flow at cold start , both hoses disconnected . Both working great good exhaust flow. I only have 87k miles on the car too. When I pulled both out to replace ports were pretty darn clean too. I noticed the vacuum line to right valve was a bit loose. I put on a oetiker clamp on it just now.

@@EuropeanAutoRepair Finally figured out my problem. It was that 40amp fuse for the pump. Stock fuse looked good, super hard to tell by looking at it through the top of the fuse, pulled it out got a better look at it and it was fried. Put a new one on and life is good again. No wonder they sell both the relay and fuse together.

I just purchased a 2005 crossfire with the 3.3 L V6 don't want took the supercharger off of a similar Mercedes and stuck on it did away with the secondary injection pump in the fuel regulators on top or not hooked up. They said they have it cleaned and this is all bypass this a bunch of BS or is the guy telling me the truth

What if they’re stuck closed? Low / Rough idle? That’s what I’m dealing with. Rpm idle 6k instead of 8 at idle 🤷‍♂️ already cleaned the throttle body and new air filters etc.

Stuck closed may mean more exhaust gasses as no clean air to heat up catalyst on start up

Could those 2 valves be a cause of a no start just crank only ? I also have the P0410 and changed air injection pump and fuse and relay thinking the gates are stuck too

Not likely the cause of a no start. Crank position sensor are pretty problematic on these and sometimes do not set faults. Check that and fuel pump

Did you have to reset the system or disconnect the battery and re-connect to make the light turn off when you do replace the pump or egr valve? Or does the light go off on it’s on? I’ve replace the fuse, relay, pump and still P0410 code. There were two rubber vacuum hoses that I replaced on both egr valves you pointed to I also replaced and still nothing 😢 not sure what else to do? Maybe take off and clean the egr valve ???

Thanks for the update. I didn't have a scanner to clear but driving it about a few days it reset itself. I guess doing one of those things helped lol@@EuropeanAutoRepair

Shouldn’t cause misfires if sec air injection system is not working properly

The screws that hold my air injector broke in half and I don’t know what screw it used could you help me out

I can’t remember off hand what those are. Aren’t they 8x1.25 bolts with inverted Torx heads?

@@setofs i know they are T30 bolts but vary in length i think 2 shorter and 2 longer

@EuropeanAutoRepair l unplugged the fan .The fan is shot too ,I can hear the bearings growling. I haven't decided if I want to rebuild the system ,or just order some caps ,pull the fan and delete the whole thing. I don't have emissions test in my state .This would save me hundreds of dollars and it's not hard to do .
