Just put the 14 1/2" super shox on my 2011 tri glide...Fantastic, it's a different bike, rides great and easier to steer. Well worth the money, 2 hrs at home to install. Thank you Brian !!!!

Great explanation of the differences on various years of TriGlide. My question…Are these shocks specd for the HD Freewheeler also?
@supershox20109 ай бұрын
Yes we have shocks for the Freewheeler

In the area I live in (Northern Illinois) we have not only winters to contend with but, also, a lot of big, really heavy, 18-wheelers that contribute to the road surface damage - rough potholed roads, With a two-wheeler motorcycle both wheels follow the same track so you, the rider, have a lot of options on picking the the smoothest path on your half of the road. With a trike, your options become really limited as to the smoothest path as you now have three different parallel wheel tracks to consider which makes it three times more difficult to avoid a pothole and stay in your half of the road. Pothole avoidance obviously becomes problematic on any trike which is why broken rims sitting in a manager's office are not uncommon sights at Harley dealers. The solid rear axles of the Harley's exacerbate that situation because it induces a lot more “head shake” into the motorcycle than one with an independent rear suspension (I.R.S.) would do. “Head shake” is a phenomenon where the steering head seems to shake back and forth like a pit bull with a long rope play toy in its mouth. What is actually happening it that the front wheel is tracking straight but the rear end (and chassis) is “dancing” side to side due to the roughness of the road. I.R.S. seems to significantly mitigate that “head shake” a lot. “Head shake” really becomes a major consideration as you get older and develop arthritis in your hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, or spine, It also affects the tendons in your arms and can cause/aggravate tendinitis (So-called "tennis elbow".)! None of the afore mentioned problems are an issue if you live and ride in an area where all the roads are always smooth as glass. Bet then, for you, every day must seem a holiday, every meal a banquet, and payday is like winning the lottery! Ride safe and watch out for the other guy......he might be me!

Hello. I totally enjoyed this class. Do you have any thoughts about this on a 2022 Freewheeler and your longer length shock please?
@supershox20104 ай бұрын
The 14.5" shock is great for the Freewheeler!

Why did Harley not put in an independent suspension in the first place. No they opted for a solid axle break my back ride like a Sherman tank setup. Allot of my friends are getting up in age and are Harley die hard owners but the setup they have is keeping them from doing the move. they will never sell me one that is for sure.

I got very lucky when I bought my 22 tri glide. It only had 248 miles on it but the guy put about I’m guessing 3k in upgrades on it including legends rear shocks.
@maddbull25876 ай бұрын
I guess I don't get out much, I was "shocked" by the cost of these shocks. Not convinced enough to consider these for my 2016 triglide ultra.
@supershox20104 ай бұрын
There is a money back policy so why not try a set to see if they are worth it? I would rather you ride and decide than try to convince you because at the end of the ride you have to be impressed or get your money back.

Why don’t Harley do it They must have rigorously tested the ride before choosing to fit their original shock….Why do they use a shock which adversely effects the ride. I’m lost
@supershox20104 ай бұрын
That's a good question for a Harley engineer or better yet the accounting department. We have proved the ride could be much better by just getting the proper shock set up.

Ordered a new 2023 HD RG3 TRIKE and I'm sure I'll want to change them so what shocks do you recommend thats from your company?
@deanbedetti537510 ай бұрын
Look at DK-Customs 13 inch ... and guess what you don't have to get on the ground to adjust them. I don't know about you but first you got to cut the pipe then these require you to crawl on the ground...yeah no thanks . DK-Customs are for superior.

The 14.5" shock is the best way as it provides a lift for reduced steering effort and more suspension travel for a better ride.
@gregrose69153 ай бұрын
So I put a DK Kustom lift kit on my 2011 Tri-Glide, using the stock 13" air shocks. Do you sell a 13" shock?
@supershox20103 ай бұрын
We do and it is the same cost as the 14.5" shock that has more travel and a better ride so you are better off removing the lift kit and going with the 14.5" shocks.
@wb45142 ай бұрын
Wouldn't changing the ride height negatively alter the geometry? Would I use this same shock on my 2017 Freewheeler ?
@supershox20102 ай бұрын
Raising the ride height has proven to make a big difference in reducing steering effort and with more suspension travel there is improved bottom resistance and a smoother overall ride. Yes the 14.5" shocks will fit on your Freewheeler as well.

I've heard good things about your shocks, but I'm 68 yrs old with a bad back, so I need the best possible ride all of the time, and my wife doesn't always go with me, so having to lay on the ground and reach up underneath to change the adjustment on the shocks every time the load on the suspension changes doesn't seem like a very good option.
@supershox20103 ай бұрын
Ken riders typically find a setting that works good for both solo and 2-up rides so that adjusting is not needed.
