Kind of ...but no. Lol Zero notable Black people in any field, in any line of work.... ANY name you can think of - from athlete to actor to author to talk show host to model to President - got there by being “mediocre.” Mediocrity is not a luxury Black people have ever had. George Bush could be President of the Entire United States as a C student, Chuck Todd’s highest academic achievement could be high school and he can be a political tv “expert,” and we could go on and on about all the mediocrrity we see all around us.. people who cannot sing, cannot act, can’t govern... Black people could never. Let’s be real about why “Black excellence” exists. There was no alternative. Had to do all that just as bare minimum.

I am not really familiar with this concept but am fully on board (I will say I can be quite bold if I want to introduce myself, i.e. I'm not a total hermit). I realized my insecurities and overthinking 100% come from my friends who do not validate me nor treat me the way I treat them or want to be treated. It’s so hard to make the choice to step away from these friendships because I constantly think “what if that’s what they wanted all along, proving that my insecurities and paranoia were valid?” But to be the best version of myself, I’m cutting off anyone that doesn’t make me feel good….what’s the point of inviting people into your life if they don’t add to it??

Yes! It can feel very uncomfortable to do but then again staying in contact with people who heighten your insecurities does too. I recently cut off someone who I considered a friend after she did something terrible (defaming me and gaslighting me). It was a clear decision to make but one that I could've made earlier had I truly honored the fact that she was often subtly invalidating. It's better to be alone than in bad company. Cheering you on!

This was my problem as well! Until my mentor told me and so many others, you can't bring everyone with you on your journey and everyone isn't meant to be there as well. We bring people along including their validations because we love them and want them to do the same for us but if they can't even do the bare minimum of supporting you and treating you with respect than why keep them around? Plus the right people meant for our lives will come on our journey, but until then validate yourself and love everything about yourself including your insecurities and work on them and continue to flourish love!

It's the African American K Pop audition for me. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! But seriously, Better Help is great. Not caring is awesome. I didn't learn this until my big age of 40. I left a great career as a construction project manager to become a full-time KZfaqr. I still earn 6 figures and I don't care what anybody thinks about what I do. I finally feel free!
