I mean it just looks like a Mondeo so it's quite easily to not like it. Upsetting this is where Ford Australia ended. That's why a lot of people were upset because it isn't how the Falcon should of ended... Coping a Mondeo

The only thing it resembles of a Mondeo is the shape of the grille! Nothing else! you could say the same shape as a Mustang, Focus & Fusion grille aswell, but the rest of the car has its own look. I dont know how you could mistaken it for a Mondeo???

Ross try the 0-100 with traction control on in these high power barras. the traction control is actually pretty good at bringing things back in line without cutting too much power. You'd at least make it to 100 :P

There is a balancing act with usable power in a rear wheel drive car once you go to far its fun to drive but not quick, and being quick is the reason to make more power no point having huge power which you cant use, when many standard cars will beat you in a drag race.

Coode rd / appleton dock rd :) ? nice car mate , and they went very well even without mods , and probably the best model falcon ever made in Australia , and then Ford Australia closed up shop sadly. It grinds my gears to hear politicians bragging they are going to do something to bring back our manufacturing ....... when the dipsticks where absolutely instrumental in destroying it in the first place.

What speed do you reckon this would get reliable traction? Barra owners want to chime in at what rwkw do these start getting slower to 100?ie what rwkw is the sweet spot for a quick road car?

I’d say about 390-400rwkw depending on tires… anymore and they seem to start just slowing down due to traction loss 😅

@@MrTroytroy never tried to be honest I just use the car for powercruise , roll racing and being a hoon and it does that well , if you want a quick street car that can put down an impressive 0-100 I don’t think a Barra is a good start , I’d look at a golf R ,rs3 etc

I own an fgx turbo Ute. It's last month of production too. I didn't really like the rear of the sedan compared to the fg. The Ute's rear is the same as the fg.

Need to do 100-200 on the dragy with these powerful cars to get a decent base to compare Should start a results table similar to top gear use to do with lap times but for 100-200 times for modified street cars 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Yeah only the force models had the red leather, and t series au had red, blue and aubergine. Shame as thats one of the best things holden did imo was the nicer and variety of interior colours.

As much as I love Falcons, I saw 2 FG - X's try to do the quarter mile at the last all Fords day at Willowbank. Both failed. Soft crappy parts let them down, while an old XD ute ran consecutive 9 second passes and could have done them all day..... all the mighty AU's that did the quarter, finished, though not in mind blowing times, but at least they made it. As I said, I love Falcons, but after the AU, they started to put too many weak parts in them, which let them down so much - but always stronger than every bogandore.

Comes with the territory. You tune cars and they get less reliable. Its not the manufacturers fault they didnt build cars to handle 600+ HP stock.

FG Barras never sound great because their design and power curve is tuned for RPM so much lower than a comparitively "high" RPM engine. They are a torque engine not a high rev engine. They were designed for towing, cruise comfort and power to get you out of unexpected trouble at low rpm - the common phrase being "taxi engine". We're so used to "high rev, screaming its tits off, F1-like" sound relating to "high power" that we forget that power comes in all forms... Different horses for different courses!

They all sound different to each other & they sure as hell all sound amazing , Idk if u have ever been in an fg thats over 400rwkw but let me tell you it aint no low rpm feeling or sound bud they fucking scream espicially with an external gate
