In fact, he is the guitarist on the Who's first hit song...Can't Explain in 1965, Petula Clark's monster hit "Downtown" in 1964 and the James Bond soundtrack for "Goldfinger" in 1964. They were only Led Zeppelin for 12 years, from 1968 until 9/25/1980 when the drummer, John Bonham died. They performed one other time in 2007 for one show at the 02 arena in England and there was over 20 million ticket requests. I've been a fan for a long time. They were getting ready for a tour which was going to bring them to Detroit on October 30 1980. I was 14 and had bugged the hell outta my mom to let me go. She finally gave in but I had to earn the money myself and I had to earn enough for 2 tickets. I had to take a friend. I earned every penny by babysitting bad ass kids that I didn't like, walking dogs or them walking me is a better way to put it. I mowed lawns in the blazing heat but I earned the money. And then tragedy struck!

Led Zepplin was to be the first concert in the brand new King Dome in Seattle, there were worries, rumors, and wild speculations that they would cause the dome to collapse. The Dome survived. That was 1976.

Okay first, this has to be one of my favorite reactions, second, you need to watch ALL the live performances from NY/Madison Square Garden and third...as a true OG who experienced these guys back in the day and still rocks out to their music, next time you see a little old lady with grey hair 👩‍🦳, don’t judge. She just might be someone who has the same musical tastes as you. Age doesn’t make you cool or uncool. It’s all in the attitude my friend. Thx & Happy New Year!

That weird breakdown part in the middle of the song is actually longer in the studio album version. It was shortened in this video. The instrument that was making all the weird sounds was called a "theramin." When this album was made (1969) was the height of experimental stuff like that. I love seeing people react to this song (as well as other Led Zeppelin songs) for the first time. It's like hearing it for the first time again for me. Loved your reaction!

Not really a "fun" fact but when I was in college, my brother and I were finally going to see them live. Right before that particular concert, John Bonham, their awesome drummer, died. They cancelled the concert and they stopped touring. John Bonham is considered to be one of the greatest, most influential, iconic drummers of all time.

One of my all time favorite rock bands!!! 😍 Led Zeppelin is definitely a unique phenomenon of, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, & acoustic styles of music, so I would have to say, they really are, a genre all on their own 😎 Robert Plant was absolutely a ladies man, however, all accounts, are that he was incredibly witty, down to earth, and that his gyrations & attitude that came across on stage, was just how he felt the music........check out joe Cocker, if you are not familiar with his work, as he is another one that gyrated even more than Plant, although, didn't come off as sexy as Plant 😍 Oh, and one more thing, everyone who listens to their music, feels like something is happening to their ears, so just remember to use protection LOL 😂 Some of my fav's by them are, Immigrant Song, Black Dog, Since I've been loving you, Babe I'm gonna leave you, & Dazed & Confused!!

hey man, saw zep twice in the 70s in the uk, 73 in a 2000 seat theatre and 75 last of 5 nights at earls court, superb nights, no support, just 3+ hours of zeppelin... fun fact, 1/2 way through they did a 20 minute acoustic set, just sat on stools playing acoustic and mandolin, showed how superb they were at any genre, we'll never see another band like them... i grew up in the 60s and 70s in the uk, best years of my life....a uk tour in those days would be 40 nights minimum, no stadiums back then, every week end good bands playing locally, by good i mean the who, fanny, humble pie, tiger, ted nugent... too many to name, all playing local provincial theatres, wonderful times....merry christmas sir... best wishes Tim

Or just dot the Zepethon, sit your ass down and listen to all 9 studio albums in a row...

Denver Coliseum 1969, Berry Fey presents a concert with Vanilla Fudge, It's A Beautiful Day, and first on stage Led Zeppelin. I was there and I knew who Jimmy Page was from The Yardbirds but did not know at the time he was in this band. They came on stage and Robert Plant came to the mic and said "we're a new band this is our first gig I hope you like us" then preceded to blow our minds completely with basically songs from their first album. Rock was real different after that. I'm 73 and I'll never forget it. Great to see you youngsters listen to and appreciate our music from way back when.
