Bonnie Raitt is a great singer, guitarist & songwriter who covers many genres such as blues, rock, folk & country. Her biggest hits are from the 70's-90's. "Something To Talk About", "Love Sneakin' Up On You", "Nick Of Time", “Have A Heart”, "I'm In The Mood" (duet with John Lee Hooker ), "Papa Come Quick" etc.

Yes, she's definitely worth diving into. 'Something to Talk About', 'Thing Called Love', 'Love Sneaking up on You', 'Nick of Time', 'Runaway', these are upbeat, great songs. She's an iconic singer & guitarist, famous for slide guitar. Even Prince called her to Paisley Park to teach him to play slide, but in the end he just used her playing on the song Cream. She's won a ton of Grammy's.

One of my all time favorite female artists. Her catalog is definitely worth a dive into. Angel From Montgomery, Something To Talk About, Thing Called Love....everything she sings is awesome. She is also a great Blues guitarist. People try to put her into the Country category, but she is Blues that sometimes crosses over into Country.

Bonnie is the daughter of a broadway star, John Raitt, from the 50’s. She’s an incredible blues guitarist and I don’t need to say anything about her powerful, beautiful voice. One of my favorites is her cover of “Angel From Montgomery”, by John Prine. Another musician you should eventually look into. Keep going with Bonnie. Don’t forget Linda Ronstadt, one of Bonnie’s contemporaries and good friend.

If you wanna hear her rock out listen to 'Love Me LIke a Man' by Bonnie. She is a fantastic guitar player. She won the grammy for best song of the year last year! And was inducted into the R & R Hall of Fame and Blues Hall of Fame in past couple of years I think. She has been a stellar artist for several decades and still looks gorgeous and sings and plays great. Don't know if she's still touring, she is getting up there in age. 'Angel From Montgomery' was another HUGE hit for her. In this song you just heard I'm thinking she was probably in 40's. Maybe older.

I love this song because it places no blame. There’s no ill intent. No bad guy. No one to whom she can direct anger as a way of coping. Just melancholy and the realization that it simply isn’t going to work out as she hoped. Nice reaction.

She JUST won a Grammy in April for "Song of the Year," for a powerfully moving song called Just Like That (I highly recommend a reaction). And this is after she's been making music for over 50 years! (She won 2 other Grammy's this year, besides.) She is also widely acclaimed as being one of the best slide guitar players in the business, especially blues. So yes, she is very much deserving of a deeper dive.

"I Can't Make You Love Me" was written by Mike Reid with Allen Shamblin. Reid was born and raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and attended Pennsylvania State University, where he played defensive tackle on the Nittany Lions football team. In his senior year, 1969, Reid led the defense with 89 tackles. He was a unanimous All-America selection, won the Outland Trophy as the outstanding interior lineman in America, and was awarded the Maxwell Trophy as the nation's outstanding player in college football. Upon graduation, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals, playing for five years while twice being named to the All-Pro team. Retiring on top in 1974, he was finally free to pursue his first passion: Songwriting.

Bonnie is one of my favorites ! Definitely recommend more of her catalogue, especially in her more common style - funky blues. “Feeling of Falling” and “Tangled and Dark” are good examples with their seriously funky bass lines. This lounge music style is uncommon in her work, but great choice of a cover !

I'm a big fan of Bonnie Raitt's music. Here's another one of her songs "Bonnie Raitt - Just Like That (Official Lyric Video)" Raitt won the 2023 Grammy Award for Song of the Year for her original song "Just Like That" this song was written and produced by Bonnie Raitt and tells the story of a woman who is visited by the recipient of her son's heart, which he received in a life-saving organ donation operation. Fair Warning: it's sad...but beautiful...get the tissues🤧

This song got me through the end of my 22 yr marriage. I had to accept he was moving on. Here I was this strong woman lying down and destroyed. I grieved but accepted what was and learned to heal. I saw that I stayed so long bc I wanted him and my middle daughter to find the peace I'd found in sobriety 10 yrs earlier. He still drank and she was an addict.. Oddly enough 2 yrs after I left they found their ways up and out. Was I offended? Nope. They came alive again which made me happy. I know now while with them I enabled and tried too hard to fix. Anyway this song reminds that I got back up when I was so low. I accepted what was real tho I didn't like it and I survived. My daughter has been clean for 8 yrs as and the ex sober for 9. We have friendship tho we've both moved on. We can mend our broken hearts when someone falls out of love with us....and still love ourselves.
