Disney has a history of treating their VAs like shit. Take Snow White's VA, Adriana Caselotti, who Walt directly refused to give her credit for her role in fear of breaking the illusion of the character. Went as far as to pretty much blacklister from any notable roles and leave her with multiple smaller jobs, which once more would end up uncredited. Only at the age of 75 did Dinsey have her come back to record a song for an attraction, only then was she given any public recognition. Only to pass away 5 years later due to her lung cancer.

@@CyberKnightProbably I think like roger rabbit, this movie is like a celebration of how far animation has come and it doesn’t even only include disney animation but also non Disney animation which I really respect. Yea it’ll have a lot of cameos but that’s what you expect and they really put in the effort to integrate so many different styles of animation into one movie. I think it was a pretty damn good movie and definitely think this one was a better attempt at crossover animation than space jam 2 for sure

@@heronok240 nah it's a shameless cash grab, a cool idea but clearly not understanding of why Roger rabbit was such a good movie. Roger Rabbit from 1988 has better 2d integration than this movie from 2022.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who noticed Dipper there, I thought all the cameos had driven me absolutely insane to the point where I was seeing characters I liked in an attemot to make sense of what was happening

It also doesn't look like bad cosplay and while the 2d-3d model thing is off it doesn't effect the background characters since it's really chip and dale your staring at most of the time. However, at least it's not just all downright lazy, colors off, etc, like "space jam: a failed legacy." And the only "ego stroking' is really just Disney not making fun of themselves as much as they do others, unlike the "king james" absolute garbage pile. I'm still mixed on this film tbh, but it's mainly because Chip and Dale could've been involved but originals should've been main and "aged peter pan" was lame. It works as a film but doesn't change an actual chip n dale rescue rangers film or tv series has been an option since duck tales was sucessful (the reboot) and they went for this with them first or at all for a direct to streaming film too.

Ngl this is a movie I just like for the animation and references. This is the animation equivalent of cheesy 80s nonstop action movies like anything with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Legit People who think it's an accident that the two stories are coincidental, is that they could've chosen any other character to be a villain and nothing much would change, but they specifically chose Peter Pan of all people

The original comment claims they chose Peter Pan to fill the role of washed-up former child actor because of the parallel it would draw to real-life actor Bobby Driscoll, with their main evidence being that they could've used any other character. I countered that claim by providing an alternative reason for Peter having been chosen, that being for the sake of irony since his nickname is "The boy who wouldn't grow up". No other character has that nickname, so no other character could've had that level of irony.

Yes, people remember that movie. It was the movie that convinced Disney to put more money into the animation department and help start the Disney Renessaince with The Little Mermaid. Still the best mix of cartoons and live action to date.

This travesty is not even worthy enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Roger Rabbit.

Honestly I think Who Framed Rodger Rabbit reminded me why I hate modern Disney...

@@ry_jayy You realize that we’re talking about a movie from the 80s, right? Unless your a movie buff, there’s no real reason for a teen to actively be all that aware of the movie. It’s not popular right now, the most recognized part of the movie is pretty much just Jessica Rabbit or the animation style IF you’re big into animation to begin with. I’m 25, born 1998, it was already a ten year old film by that time. Let alone was I old enough to even take in the story and admire the animation, by the time I could it’s already been near 25 years since it originally came out. Take that and account for the fairly large teen fanbase of Milk’s and you get a lot of kids who just never saw, let alone remember the fine details of the story or it’s methods it used for it’s animation. I saw parts of it when I was around six to around ten, didn’t remember much and ended up mixing the main villain up with The Mask somehow. We had it’s VHS tape, yet it still went ignored. Just like the likes of “little House of Horrors” and “The Goonies”, sure all popular but irrelevant to most younger audiences.

Rodger Rabbit is literally in this movie.

They wanted to subvert expectations, because that's always good. … Should've gone with nuking the White House. Equally unexpected, but slightly less offensive.

Tbh I got the feeling they really didn't like Watchung since they kept saying it was boring which is fair enough. It's not for everyone

Even thought the demographic for the show definitely evolved dramatically, from a show typically targeted towards young girls to now girls, boys, and even adults, you’re right in saying is not for everybody. Not even because it’s bad, far from it, it just has a pretty basic premise, which is ironically so basic for literally anyone to learn, yet most people just choose not to

TRUE!! I HONESTLY FELT LIKE HE WAS IN A WAY!! They embraced the ugly Sonic title and played with it to the fullest! Deadass- I feel like Ugly Sonic is the modern version of Scourge except he's the anti-live action Sonic.

Yeah, as an adult I have a love/hate relationship with them. I haven't liked many of their recent animation movies (I think the last one I really enjoyed was Zootopia which is now 8 years old), they're shoving girl power messages down the throat without respecting the audience to get subtle messages while not actually showing the girl power (ex. Kim possible live action that found cheerleading too girly but had kim whine and cry about someone being better than her while having a make over montage and still be catty with another girl rival), and getting rid of their better cartoons like owl house and amphibia. I loved their marvel movies, but they won't go far enough into the darker aspects (which makes me worried about Blade but they did okay with Moon Knight so who knows), and they have a habit of taking properties that are a bit dark (like Artimis Fowl) and lightening them up (turning a character who was originally a villain and "forcing" them to be a villain but not actually a villain to make them maintain that good guy status (Artimis Forwl who was from a criminal family and just a bad guy and turning him into a kid who had to play the bad guy to save his father in his Disney movie)). And lastly, Disney's disregard to some of their best female characters Kida (Atlantis) and Esmerelda who were strong, independent, kick @s$ women who somehow doesn't get princess status but Mulan does (and she is not a princess but a general's wife or general herself depending on the movie). Kida is a literal queen but gets no recognition. Disney has my nostalgia. I grew up with them and I still love the 90s and early 00s movies. But lately the power has gone to their heads, everything is CGI (throw in 2d animation from time to time Disney), I find the pacing in the newer animation movies not very good, with messages too obvious and distracting in the movie. Hell, watching Beauty and the Beast (1991) yesterday I realized there was a subtle message of how society kind of worships toxic male behavior stereotypes of how the townspeople knew of Gaston's ugly personality and worshipped him while the smart inventor (the nerd) was scorned and the beast was mocked for being "too kind and gentle to fight back". Again, it's a love hate relationship with them. Even disapproving, I cant help but keep coming back. They do some good things (I have liked their star wars tv series), and some bad things (company practices and some of their other movies as mentioned). They brought me good memories and I hope they continue to do so and fix their sleezy practices.

They included ugly sonic so much clearly as a marketing gimmick, and they didn’t even pay SEGA to add him in. They are just flaunting their status as a media empire by flagrantly breaking copyright law. Sure, he’s a parody or whatever, in the same vein Dumb Starbucks is a parody. But at least Dumb Starbucks is like just one location, they’re a small business and can loosely get away with it as performance art, but Disney? They are a literal corporate juggernaut who could’ve easily spent the money to actually license the usage of ugly sonic but have gotten so big and powerful they instead decided to just steal and flaunt ugly sonic during the height of sonic movie 2 hype so that they could leech off said hype to get more views. And that’s just sonic, how many other of those cameos were unlicensed IP theft?

Ugly Sonic is a semi-major background character that has plot relevance, who blatantly utilizes a semi-modified version of Sonic’s original movie design. The only major differing thing about him is his name, i.e. Ugly Sonic instead of just Sonic. I have also heard that Disney in now way contracted or even consulted SEGA or Paramount about including and using the Sonic IP in the movie, and therefore the Ugly Sonic name can be construed as a way of copyright dodging a lá Dumb Starbucks. But honestly Disney straight up committing crimes with this movie isn’t even the worst thing they did here, they basically took a shit on Bobby Driscoll’s grave.

I also doubt that Disney would spend all of the money necessary for licensing those other characters if they didn't either have designs on owning those IPs or plan on at least tripling their investment. Though I suppose some of those IP holders could've given their characters to Disney as some type of advertisement, but that seems like a bit of a stretch. I know that I'm considering all of this from a purely business perspective, but honestly, this movie is so bereft of creativity and artistic intent that I'd be shocked if it _wasn't_ written by soulless corporate suits.
