I am not muslim or christian but a hindu but I have huge respect for Saladin and baldwin. This movie made me go deep into crusades and I am happy that I did.

I loved your reaction. Keep it up. When it comes to the kiss of peace scene after the battle halfway through the movie it is interesting as King Baldwin suffered from Leprosy which was very much thought to be contagious the fact that he demands that Raynald of Châtillon kiss his ring and expose himself to the desires could be considered a death sentence. I have to admit my favorite line in the movie is when at the end Orlando Bloom's character asks Saladin "What is Jerusalem Worth?" and Saladin responds with "Nothing." and after a brief pause "Everything." The man they had to be Saladin was just perfect to play the wise noble king he is depicted as in various texts.

Ohhh, that makes sense damn what a way to give out a death sentence💀, I wish we got to see more of Baldwin tho I liked him a lot and the mutual respect between him and salahudin, salahudin and Baldwin are both noble kings both deserved to rule🙌, and I think when he said “everything” I think he meant that it means everything spiritually if that makes sense

The actor (Orlando Bloom) also had a major role in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies! Even so, I think this is my favorite performance of his. Bloom is still able to show off some major “fighting” skills, but the acting is much more nuanced and emotional. Balian is a complex man who desires peace, but is capable and unafraid of wielding extreme brutality in its pursuit/“defense.” That kind of character is rarely seen in big-budget Hollywood movies. In fact, the only similar examples I can think of right now are from Braveheart and Gladiator - which shows how underrated KOH really is (IMHO)

@@cometgirl217 true he had major roles all over Hollywood but I think he is most known for lord of the rings because of how big lord of the rings is, it’s one of the biggest movie franchises in history

"Why did they give up on God so quickly though?" Akhi, perhaps we should ask ourselves that with so many people leaving the path of Allah SWT for their own desires. First it was the Christians who saw their numbers drop immensely, now we're seeing it.

Is this the director's cut? Because I habe to say theatrical is garbage. On the other hand directors cut is a masterpiece

Nope this is the normal one, I only know there was a directors cut after I watched this one, I never knew the difference tho?

@@OmarAlsaadi40 The theatrical cut is 2 hr and 20 min and directors cut is 50 minutes longer. Directors cut gives Balian a more of a backstory instead of making some blacksmith becoming millitarry genius overnight. Apperantly he was local millitary engineer to the local lord who happened to be his father godfreys brother. And the priest he kills at start is balians half brother who was jealous of him. Sybilla has a son who was a leper like Baldwin.. And you can see there is already a hugh amount of content missing in thetrical version right... More than that ...that additional 50 minutes transform Kingdom of heaven from a medieval action movie to a cinematic masterpiece. I dont know how to describe. It is that different..You have to watch and experience yourself

The movie dignifies both Christians and Muslims both. Seen alot of comments by muslims on the clips of this movie and they all say it was great. As for Saladins mercy..I think he had a understanding most others did not. The Crusades were actually a war of European Aggression, simy put they killed and tormented anyone who was not European be it a Jew a Muslim and even middle eastren Christians. I think he saw this as a situation that had gotten out of hand, Im a Christian myself and I think he was brilliant for taking the moral high ground. I was taught not really to judge others as Its not my place to say if a man has a relationship good or bad to a certain extent with God i have enough worries for myself. Maybe God spoke to Saladins heart.

As Muslims we respect you guys soo much🙌, we are so close to each other in religion we are both taught good manners and to agree to peace whenever we can, there is just one point we disagree on and that’s it, but we both love god very much and both of us think that is all merciful, what salahudin did was like our prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did, there was a war where they killed his favourite uncle and killed everyone didn’t show mercy to anyone, but then Muhammad(PBUH) came back with a lot more people believing in him and when he came back he forgave everyone and even let them live beside them, btw I don’t know if you know this we love Jesus very much as Muslims 🙌

I agree with everything you said except for the crusades being a "war of aggression", rather it was retaliation for centuries of Muslim incursions and invasions into Christian lands. I'm not defending either side here but it's just simply not as black and white as "European aggression". There's a lot of context and history that led up to the crusades.
