Let me ask you a question? Who is supposed to be more benevolent? You or god ? But who supposedly has the power to help such kids with unimaginable ease ? Would an omnipotent benevolent being really let such kids suffer when it has the power to end their suffering ? If God existed then why wouldn't he end evil and suffering? God has a reason for everything. They are feeding him very large portions of carbs the parents are doing this. They can't give in to him. He does not have a disease. He just happens to gain weight very easily and I suspect the parents have given into him.

The food portion was too big for a seven year old.

The parents were enabling him by feeding him way way too much for his age and high carb foods at that, he can only get bigger on that diet we see him here being given. (they probably did the same with his sister while she was in hospital).
