Honestly, what Garnt did that time meditating is how I deal with work everyday. Just in my head think about fanficion ideas, commissions I can create, and visualizing in my head scenes from fanfiction that I’ve read before while putting cones of yarn on the machine. It really helps the time fly by. You would not believe how many times I’ve visualized “Sage of the New World” in my head, or the times I’ve self inserted my OC into various series.

I can relate to this so much. I do worldbuilding for this story to improve, and I've found that I can escape into any simulated event or whatever at any given moment.. It's helped me to fall asleep like a genuine miracle, I had the worst insomnia for years, now it's like a mantra every night. Ah, when I was a kid, I was given a room to share with one of my brothers because we were the youngest(2 years apart) and my older brothers were much older(10 and14 years respectively). Once they moved out, I took my brother's small room because it was about the same size as our old room, then my 2 year older brother claimed our original shared room, my other older brother's room, and the attic. I reclaimed one of them when I turned 17(He was still with us til 21), but I was quite aggravated my parents let him claim three rooms as his own for many years.

Oh god, I remember doing that with Pokémon as a kid aswell. When I'd be left at my grandma's house she barely had any stuff so as a kid I would just get bored and replay episodes of Pokémon or whatever I was watching at the time in my head. I still find the idea of just watching TV in your fuckin mind hilarious.

When I was a teenager, we bought an old house that needed a lot of work before we could even move in... I ended up getting the best room because I was the only one of the three siblings who bothered to regularly go look while my parents were busy renovating, so I figured out which room would ultimately have the best perks.

I used to share with my younger sister and she used to have nightmares very often so I always got woken up around 1-2 am each night. Later we built a second bedroom out of a part of the kitchen, it was really small (barley fit a bed and dresser) and me being the oldest and very logical and stupid gave the room to my sister since she had more toys and thus needed more space, came to regret it when we grew older.

When I was 5 my parents bought a two bedroom house. They got one bedroom I got the other. When I was 12 my sister was born. She slept in thier with them. Got a separate bed when she was five. When i was 22 I finally moved out and she got my room. So my little sister had to spend 10 years sharing my parents room. Moral of the story, if you invest in a house to plan to live in for the rest of your life, make sure it has a spare bedroom as you never know when your family will expand.

Been in the same room since I moved into my house in '05, my brother and I used to share the room, then my family did some rearranging and when my sister moved out, my brother got her room while I kept our room. After that, it was customary that if a guest came to stay over, instead of getting the guest room, my parents would make me give up my room since it was comfier, at least until I got older and the guest room was revamped. Ironically, my room, despite tying with the guest room as the smallest, ended up being the best since it had more insulation packed into it, meaning it's the warmest room in the winter and the coolest in the summer.

I'm the oldest son with my fraternal twin brother, so cause it's a hassle, I given a room the same with them, we have bunk bed that have another bed below it, so it have three bed basically. Cause I'm older and probably weight more, I sleep at the lowest one which basically the close to the floor, my youngest brother of the twins don't like height so he get the bunk bed in the middle, while my middle brother get the one at top. When we got bigger, that room is becoming smaller the same with the beds, so it became a guest room, while we moved to 2nd floor bigger bedroom, we still use on the same room, but the room is much bigger and can hold up to 3 separate mattresses without the bed frame. It's amazing that now I think that we never have our own room and always sharing, after I got graduate from Highschool, my family and my brother moved to another house, while I'm living at rent place for pursuing higher eduacation.

My parents always gave the room that was closest to their own to my sister and I got the one that was further away. No matter if it was bigger or smaller she'd get the room closest to them. Reason being that in the event of a home invasion, I'd be the first room the perpetrators would interact with since I'm older and a boy. I didn't really care that much since I was always on the computer, so having a big or small room didn't really matter to me. Actually, their reasoning did help out at one point; I was up late one-night playing games and I heard people running around outside our house and try to enter. I immediately bolted to trigger the alarm and wake my parents, the secuirity personel did find evidence of break-in attempts and footprints along the ground outside my window. My parents also told me several times after that incident that they didn't mind me staying up late at night even if it was a school night, because it made them feel a lot safer. Even though I would never be able to stop any actual intruders. The fact that I was awake and could hear if anything ever happens was enough for them.

My parents had a new house built when I was 11. At some point my dad shows me around and when we reach the attic, there's a really big room there and he says that it's my sister's bedroom. I felt so shafted... Nobody told me we could claim bedrooms, so I ended up with the second smallest bedroom which was next to the bathroom (the smallest being the guest room). My cousin has three kids and also just has a new house. Their two eldest boys share a room and their little sister get a bigger room all to herself.

It wasn't till my 3 older siblings left home and then we all got our own rooms (and then mine was taken out for renos as it was the smallest, so then there was sharing again until I moved out) Large families are Fun but man was it crowded and busy

Living in an asian household, when moving to a new house, you follow the ancestry line 😂 Whoever is older pick first, then comes the second and so on. I was the third one. I was left with the maids room besides the kitchen for 3 years until the house extension was built. That is the real Harry Potter experience.

For most of my life we had 2 rooms for the 4 kids in my house. Me and my brother shared a room and my sister's shared a room. I didn't much care to sleep in my room so I slept in my little sister's bed because she liked to sleep next to my older sister in her bed. So my brother got a room to himself, my little sister got to sleep by my older sister, and my older sister just had to tolerate it. Then we moved into a bigger house so everyone got their own rooms and my little sister was at a sleep over so we all picked the rooms we wanted and my little sister got the bad one.

I don't know why but I have the biggest room in our house and my sister's room is quite small. But she is married now but that room still belongs to her

My parents were pretty fair and let us pick in order of age and even though I’m the middle I usually got the room because my sister picked the small room at our old house because it had a balcony and then when we got our new house she was already moving to Uni

When it came to rooms the oldest got the big room, the 2 middle got the biggest room but had to share it, I got the smallest room but it was all to myself and was actually quite big tbh. Then when we moved and it was just me and my sister I simply said that I had ap classes and a computer that I could make money with so I needed more room for a desk and I got the room.

My brother and I just quietly agree on things most of the time. The most serious thing that has happened is that he almost scammed me out of 500kr when I was 9.

since we are all relatively close in age, we all started in the same room.. my brother moved to the second room when my sister was born, and then my sister shared that room with him when I was born. Later my brother moved to the attic. so..technically, I'm still in the nurserary XD this has been my room for 27 years now

My brother chose his room and I got the other one because I wasn't born yet. My room was much bigger and I had my own bathroom. I consider that a win.

I gamed the system as a middle child by sharing the biggest room with my sister and then developing a sensitivity to noise when I was 16 so I couldn’t sleep in a room with someone else - my sister moved into a smaller room because my parents said she’d be allowed to decorate it. I got the biggest room to myself and then after a few weeks, there was a small fire and I got to decorate my own room anyway 😎

I think my room is a bit smaller than the others but I like it, besides my brother's room was next to the toilet. Then my mom changed rooms with my brother, so he got the biggest room with a balcony. He deserved it tho (he organized it well). So it didn't bother me cause I didn't want to change my room anyway. Now I'm the only one from my family who still hasnt switched rooms. Bro moved out. I also had an experience when we were on a car trip (I have motion sickness) and I couldnt wait when there was 40 minutes left so I imagined a Code Lyoko episode in my head.

I never rlly got to pick my room until i was 13 and my family moved, in the same situation as Joey. I was the oldest and i just got my room and it was my room until i had to share with my brother, my sister got my brothers room. Then when i was 13 and we moved to a new house, my parents told me i could pick which bedroom i wanted, felt good :)

The youngest child always got the room closest to the parents and there’s a point siblings share rooms until one got too old, so they move down the hall.
