We had to decide between regular screen and ScreenX and ended up with regular because of timing issues. Seeing your review and watching some of the ScreenX featurettes - I was SOLD on needing to watch it again on that format. Amazing, just watched it again and was almost better than I expected. It really made the viewing a fresh and exciting experience.

Considering how much footage was dedicated to screen x it’s definitely worth experiencing

Finally someone giving this movie a 10/10! Maybe the most entertaining theatre experience of my life.

Thank you for this! I'm actually planning to go watch a 2nd time - specially for ScreenX format (so your video helps a ton on deciding if it's worth it)! That said, how does the sound compare to say IMAX or other high quality auditoriums (say Regal's RPX)?

I went to a screening of "Maze Runner" in 2014 that was presented in ScreenX. The theater was testing the new format. It took some time getting used-to NOT looking to the sides. The peripheral action was all incidental to what was happening on the front-center screen. It was more immersive, but a key drawback for me was the sound system was not properly designed or configured to enhance the effect. Overall, it WAS a slight improvement to the moviegoing experience, but without better sound it wasn't dramatically different.

It’s good, but my theater just added projectors instead of fully tailoring the the side walls. I think if a couple theaters built from the ground up use screen X, it would be much better.

Thanks for the review. It's getting shown again in some UK cinemas for 3 quid, so I might well check that out, given that I saw it in IMAX back in May. The plot is threadbare (and basically, Iron Eagle II), but the aerial shots were immense. I'm just gutted Tony Scott is no longer around to direct it. However, it was nice to see Don Simpson credited as joint producer in the opening shot, like with the first film. Great to see the Screen X effect in-cinemas as well. In the UK, if you filmed anything in the room, they keep an eye on that and would boot you out, and possibly ban you from the cinema.

I have watched the Screen X on same Top Gun movie. certain scenes that i could not seen it at normal screen ended up with clearer and wider coverage with Screen X. It is worth the penny to go for Screen X for sure. I wonder how it would be with "4Dx" on same movie next !

Nice review. I will check out Fodzilla Minus One on Screen X. Your review felt honest and gave me a better feel of what to expect. Like, when you say they are talking, it is on the main screen. I did not know this and thank you for this bit of information. Again, great job.

I definitely need to see this on ScreenX. Top Gun is my family’s favorite movie. I have seen it over 1000 times. I saw Top Gun Maverick on regular screen. The movie was everything I had hoped for. I planned to see it again, but now, I will see it in ScreenX.

I just seen Thor and Screen X and it was the same thing I was surprised that the side screens were so blurry but after a while I didn't really care I still thought it was freaking awesome

Thanks for the review! I was slow to catch it in IMAX(Jurassic World pushed it out.), so was looking at other options. 4DX seems to be out too. Saw ScreenX showing here at Regal in Atlanta and wondered how it was. Will try to see it this week. Hope it may come back to IMAX at some point. Will see that as well if it does return.

I’m in south Florida aswell check out the 4DX theater they have here at Dania pointe there’s also screen x there and RPX. I’m going to see Elvis tomorrow in screen X. In 4DX you actually have to hold on to ur seats they move

I highly suggest Regal 4DX. It’s more immersive than screen x. The seats move

Movie was awesome! Grew up watching the original as a kid at the movie theaters (yeah I’m old). Not impressed with Regals Screen X. The movie would be just as good without it.

Up here in Alaska it 16$ and imax is 14$

After ~7 hours I will hop in cinema to check Top Gun: Maverick in ScreenX. Chose Screen X because I think there would be a lot of in cockpit clips that would suit Screen X better. Lets hope I am right, although I didn't want to watch a probably typical boring action movie in first place. But I hope am wrong ;)

Just saw it today for the 3rd time in ScreenX and the effect is pretty immersive and the flying scenes are awesome in the format but the sound isn't that great. Maverick is the perfect movie to see in ScreenX but I don't think it's essential.

Where's the best place to sit in the theater?

I thought the same thing about the movie and really wanted to give it a 10/10 but seeing as I’ve never done that I just gave it a 9.7/10 but this is the first and only Like I’ve ever said I’d watch again in the movies

When I saw Spiderman No Way Home, it was not for the whole film, not even half

Experienced the Screen X experience for the first time today as a film grad. I couldn’t stop laughing for the first 20 minutes of the movie. What an absolutely stupid idea in my opinion.

No, it was not exhilarating pumping from beginning to end. There were slow borning love scenes sprinkled all over, plus the volleyball scene.

Ewww is that in a Regal theater? I mean, just having it the side picture blasted up on a wall and not on actual screens is just lazy!
