Bravo! If mousetrap videos was a category at the academy awards, I would nominate this one for an Oscar. This had everything, from crystal clear instructions , high resolution format, fitting music, slo-mo effects and a very satisfying conclusion fully capturing the vermin's reaction. This should be the bar that all mouse trap videographers aspire to. One minor criticism with the design is that that type of plastic bottle with its ridges would be relatively easy for the mouse to chew a hole in to escape I'd think. But if it's somewhere where you could hear the noise or if you check it regularly it would be alright.

To think of it The rat was very clever, It examined the trap and was cautious.

This is better than every other mouse traps I’ve seen, because it doesn’t *KILL* the mouse, just closes it so you can get rid of it peacefully. Make some tiny holes too, so it can breathe.

Made this one out of an old Fiji water bottle and the other supplies. Super effective, got the mouse that was eating the seed I had sitting outside in only a few hours, and I was able to safely relocate it.

Clever trap design vs. clever, cautious mouse. Impressive how the mouse checks out the stability of the trap's construction, looking it over from side & top, careful to take gentle nibbles. But it wants the whole damn peanut prize, the trap becomes familiar rather than dangerous after multiple visits, and finally the mouse goes for it. Reminds me of the opening of the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Wear gloves when making anything to catch a mouse. He kept running away because your human scent was all over that, so he had to investigate to determine if you were there or not. The trap though is brilliant. One of those "why didn't I think or this" things. So simple yet effective. I'm gonna go make like 15 of these things. (We have some new squeaky tenants that won't move out)

I love the ingenious way that you made this TRAP out of easy to source materials. I did see in one of the comments below, they mentioned that the rat cut through the bottle in 2-3 minutes! My suggestion is check the trap frequently and stomp on the rat before they get away!

That mouse was very clever...but can't compete with human.

The rat knew it was a trap as it escaped at least a dozen times whenever it touched the bait, however seeing that nothing really happened this fed on to its greed to finally get the bait and it got caught. Brilliant idea to use such a simple tactic to catch the rat.

Rats are intelligent. I'm learning that the hard way. Out of no where, literally from one day to the next, we had a rat in our home (we've NEVER had this issue) and we've been trying to trap for 3 weeks now. It's SO frustrating. I don't know how it knows it's trap lol It just takes the food, and it's almost been trapped but then it runs away!! Driving me NUTS. Definitely going to try this out. I love it because it repurposes recyclable items, and it's humane. Just trying to figure out what to do with it afterwards. I'm terrified of them. Do I just take them to the mountains?

Надо было в резиновых перчатках делать ловушку или как-то по другому отбить свой запах, крыса чует запах человека и инстинктивно начинает опасаться всего, чего он касался. Хотя можно было сделать гораздо проще - положить кирпич на пол, сверху клеем для крыс полить и положить в центр кусок овсяного печенья, всё, крысе\мышке конец. Жестоко? Ну, так и они нам не запах роз в дома таскают, а вонь и болезни.
