Super helpful video. I originally wasn't going to click on this one because I don't need to replace the hose, but what I did want to know is all the potential places this thing could leak and how I could fix it. This is literally the only video I can find where someone shows every single connection and fitting so I know exactly how this thing goes together and comes apart. I've gotten fed up with my hose and manual real leaking at all of the plastic connection points and flooding my lawn and garden bed, so I decided to order this today. We have one at my work place and I've been very pleased with it, but I knew that the connections on this weren't that durable because the one at work has a replacement fitting on it, which I know are much stronger than the original fittings. Now that I know where all of the possible points of failure are, I'm prepared to keep this thing working for years to come. I just hope the automatic retraction doesn't get messed up because then I'll really have my work cut out for me. Luckily I'm a handy guy

Very cool. I’ve been meaning to install one as well. Btw..instead of vinyl tubing you can also use certain RV drinking water hoses, they’re reef safe as well. (Is what Marc Levenson uses). Cheers

Very cool but I would also keep in mind since the hose has water in it atm of this video; saltwater just sitting in the line for an extended amount of time will not be good after a while. Idk if you have a specific way of getting it all out or what. Just thought I’d share my opinion

I know this is an old video, and you may not even be feeding any more. Just very curious if you can tell me how you set this up to a pump to push the water from your mixing station through your hose and into your tank?

This video is super helpful. Thank you for putting it together. I am looking to do something similar but the first hose reel I bought wouldn't allow me to replace the hose. Is this the best Hose Reel you have found to do this? I see there are cheaper ones online but I am not sure what type can have the hose replaced like you have done here in the video.

What do you think would happen if you left the ro or saltwater in the hose ? And not having a full setup like yours what’s the best way to drain the hose?

Could I use an RV drinking water hose if I'm only gonna be running RO water to a few planted freshwater tanks?

Do you have a closeup shot of the 2 gears and guide? I have mine apart and I’m not quite sure how they go back together.

Tried to find that hose on Amazon with the link you posted but the only thing I see 100 ft is the 3/8 inner diameter doesn’t say anything about 1/2 ID x 3/4 OD ?

Is there any negative effects of leaving the water in the tubing after your water change? If you only do bi weekly water changes or longer could the water go bad with no circulation/heat?
