As someone who dabbles in instrument repair, this hurt a little. those poor clarinet pads lol. However, I don’t exactly get the impression that moon hooch is really worrying about having perfect sealing pads when they’re using THAT clarinet. I’m pretty sure the sounds were worth it.

I was cringing a bit too. Have been a WW player most of my life. But also wonder if synthetic pads have been developed for woodwinds. I get the larger/sax pads with resonators would need more development, but marching bands have been around for ever and the woodwinds always get a day off when it's wet. Why not silicone? Play in the rain all day!
@bentenboy13
@bentenboy13 4 жыл бұрын
John Resciniti they’d still lose sealing capabilities as soon as water hits them, so you’d need to dry them off before you could play again either way. But yeah, no more replacing just due to some water. Though there’d probably be other issues you’d have to consider, especially during manufacturing and selling costs for the player.

That clarinet is from the 60's. Made by Leblanc; its their model 340 colloquially called the "Paperclip" contrabass clarinet. Idk where Wenzl got the 100 year thing from. The contrabass clarinet was only a theoretical instrument until about that long ago, but they were shaped more like a bass clarinet is. Adolphe Sax attempted to build a contrabass clarinet in his lifetime but was unsuccessful. He made substantial improvements to the bass clarinet in his lifetime though.

Andrew, I really doubt you'll notice this, but, if you do, I have a video idea that might be interesting. I was inspired by your videos where you make songs out of unusual sounds, so I've started making a track exclusively out of sounds you'd hear at an arcade/bar. Slot machine cranks, pinball bumpers, coins being inserted, beer glasses being filled, fighting game bleeps and bloops, crowds laughing, ect. I think it would be awesome to see what kinds of songs you could make while working with a unified theme with your samples like that. I think that'd be a perfect way to establish a very strong sense of place and tone for a song.

I'm not sure why but I can't stop listening to Bass Horns, I have it on repeat for about 8 times now. Have been a fan of Moon Hooch for a while but this is such a great use of their crazy skills. Please tell me you plan to work with them more often!

I thought I was going to be sadder not being included. But damn, some of these submissions are awesome. So I can't even be mad! Good job everybody! Had lots of fun, thanks Andrew, as always awesome sample pack!

Same. I mean, I knew mine wouldn't be included (it was some weird glitchy metal, after all) but when I realised all the submissions he did include were legit serious proper quality music, being included could literally have been sad. 😂

@@vlyrch Cool to see another person who made metal with it. I made some circusy extreme ska metal. I didn't even expect to be included; my mix is black metal quality and I didn't do any production wizardry like these guys.

I felt the same. But you know what? There were 500(!!!) submissions. That's a lot to go through. Regretfully, I didn't properly master my track before uploading, but that's my fault, so I can't complain. It's not a big deal for me personally, because it was a fun experience! :D I didn't find your track though. Have you uploaded it to the public? My track is on my SC if you wanna check it out. Same name.

@@GROENAASMusic I really enjoyed your track, man! It definately needs an aggressive british rapper on it 😂😂😂 . My song is uploaded here on KZfaq, the samples are all over the place, just not very prominent... that's also something I could have done better, there are too many elements from my library. You only used samples for the sample pack, right?
