When I replace these water pumps I usually replace the original bolts with a stainless steel bolt to prevent corrosion between the bolt and the aluminum housing. Yeah kind of a expensive fix I guess I could just use anti-seize. But stainless or anti-seize will resolve any of the corrosion issues that cause bolts to break. Another great video Pierre especially the part where you taught us about vacuum pressure stabilization and why that hole is there.

That makes sense for the aluminium housing, but the block where they bolt in is still steel, right? Correct me, if I am wrong, but wouldn't the stainless bolts then eat away your block? Galvanic corrosion...?

If you have an M103 or M104 be sure to get the little plug that presses into the side of the water pump. Some will have a cover plate over the hole and others won’t. I use the orange MB transmission sealant on the plug just for peace of mind. The pump casting is very thin so be sure not to crack it while installing the plug.

Please Pierre make a video about how to adjust and repair the carburetor of the m102 engine because I have one in my w124 European model and needs some help to improve the ideal and the acceleration of the car , thanks for the great help and information I gain from your videos 👌👍👏

Hi pierre, could you make some video about single timing chains vs double timing chains.. i have w201 2.0 1985 model that has a single timing chain.. im a bit worried about one article that i read that single timing chains are very unreliable compared to double chains that works very well... it means my m102 single chain engine is really unreliable one? Thats really sad to hear... do i need to replace and change it to double? Thank you in advance..

Hi Pierre, I have just bought the short pump for my 250S, I noticed that the shaft doesn't sit flush with the impeller, I can see on your video yours is the same, would you suggest I have it pressed so it sits flush? Seems a bit strange that the impeller sits out so far and not flush with the shaft.

The old one i keep, found it was still good shape, just chanched as preventive maintenance,...is that good practice to keep a spare part? Kept dry or spray some wd 40 in wheephole Pierre? Bob Belgium🇧🇪thanks...ps i saw in one of my oldtimers the wheephole at top! This is no gooood , is it?
