Water pump replacement 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8L. V6. Install Remove Replace. 3.3L should be the same too. For some reason they decided to move the water pump from the front to the backside, making it a little more difficult. If you are watching this video and see that your water pump is on the radiator side of the engine, then consider yourself lucky. the water pump seems to be the same no matter where they mounted it. The one in the front (radiator side) comes right out easy. Back one takes more work.
Plymouth (Grand) Voyager with the 3.3L engine, Regular Caravan and Chrysler Town and country should be the same way, for several years on both van styles.

This is the best video for the vans with the towing package and rear ac where the pump in under the compressor towards the front of the car vs the ones toward the back.

Torque ratchet. This was very helpful for my car. Also, I had been having a problem with the belt squeaking, and this might have helped. Thanks.

I'm getting ready to do this on my van in a few days. One thing I'll say, being a diesel/transport refrigeration mechanic (thermoking) any time I've ever used silicon to hold an o ring in place almost always starts to leak after time.

Good point. Like we can actually see everything we're doing when our hands are buried between the firewall and valve covers to replace the plugs on a transverse mounted V6. Try changing mounts on a Hyundai Tucson. Like you're gonna see any of that. Yeah right.

Caravans have cheap water pumps! I carry spare in my van! Some newer models has a plastic impeller which breaks sometimes and causes engine overheat! James

@11:55 - "300,000 miles - hard to believe"..............WHY is that hard to believe??? Dodges and Chryslers run VERY well IF you keep up with the regular maintenance - most people run these vans down to the ground with minimal or NO maintenance AT ALL - and they expect the vehicle to perform miracles...........i have a Caravan getting close to 259,000 miles and it runs almost like new

I love how they decided to use a plastic power steering pump pulley soley on the hardest damn thing to remove on this van. And press it on so its twice as hard for no reason what so ever!

With these vehicles there was a recall on the pulley .. There's a solution kit which is a few hundred with a different pulley and double sided belt. I had problems with my belt slipping off when going thru big puddles and living in Washington state that's imevitable .

There is also a kit you can buy to put on the pulley which makes the belt stay in place. It cost like 15.00 and took maybe 10 minutes. My belt kept slipping off to so much that I couldn't drive it in the wet weather.

talking about 19mm bolts and 10mm bolts. How about 12 bolt for 19mm socket and 6mm bolt for 10mm socket or wrench

sounds like blown head gasket could be oil in your anti freeze
