I never minded working in the rain up in the Kitsap County area. Waterproof boots, a good rain suit, and neoprene gloves. Now that I live in South Eastern NC, working in the rain during 75% of the year you're getting wet no matter what. Sweating in the humidity with gear on or the rain.

Heat pumps ain't cheap my friend. In AZ, ours are huge. In 1996 after a tornado ripped the roof off my house, I had to replace it with a 5.5 ton unit with extra return ducts. As you know, all units earlier than the noughties are on the roof. Later they're on the ground. Think I paid $5K for that unit and installation. Barter is a good idea. I reckon taking down trees costs far more than just labor for the heat pump install. Or did you get the heat pump AND labor for the trees....?
