We helped some people that had very bad run of luck with a well that had failed. The well had sanded up and would not produce a drop of water. I called Mr. Joe to see if he could help out as the people were not able to afford a well at the time.
We ended up drilling a new 2" well to a total depth of 360' with 20' of screen and it made a good strong well. The water level ended up being over a foot above the ground which made it very easy for the pump. We ran into some trouble on the first day as we tried to finish the well at 150' which ended up not being a very good sand with low flow. Mr. Joe didn't like this and made the decision to abandon the depth and pull it all out and keep going. We were able to remove the casing and salvage it for reuse in the finished well.
I was a second help so I was not able to film everything as I would have liked. Maybe sometime soon under better circumstances ill be able to film him drill a well again.

Had Mr. Joe Drill a well in Waldheim for me 450'. Set the screen in sand that was almost black! Very Thankful for him and his guys. Had originally planned on Teme but he is so backed up and new regulations in St. Tammany.

Yep I hear that they are both trying to fight for lesser regulations so they can get the work done!

Is this line of work hard to do

I'm used to seeing rigs like this and older digging wells. Last year, I saw one of those giant new-fangled contraptions drilling for a week. I think he must of drilled in the wrong spot. The area is full of underground water. But one of those new rigs are no good unless you drill in the right spot(s).

How do you keep the sand from caving in or heaving up?
@ClearWaterPumpWell

You have to keep your mud thick/heavy enough to hold the hole open until drilling is complete.

Then how do you keep the mud from stopping up the screen and gravel pack? Just curious. I'm a cable tool driller, and I've never been able to make a screen well.

@@caseygross7564 They typically set casing using clean water to backfill when it starts floating. The backwash valve will keep mud water out of casing as it's too thick to go through screens. When well is set at bottom of hole in sand strata the well is then hooked up to pump with fresh water which flows out around hole. The sand caves in around screens and the hole usually collapses around casing as well once the heavy mud is flushed out. Then the well is air lifted to clean out screen and allow well water to start flowing and sand to settle in. This usually takes about 30 minutes to a hour of flushing then the pump can handle the rest after a couple days running.

Good stuff! Looking to weld a new tub. You don't get any blowouts with a built-in "pit" casing? Did you spread any Bentonite around the base of the tub before pounding it into the ground? Thx.

No ground is pretty hard here so he just beat it in. Mr Teme will also drill about 10' with a 8" hole bit and push down a conductor pipe to drill through. It helps really prevent blowouts in loose sandy ground.

Absolutely no reason whatsoever to be running that rotation that fast
@ClearWaterPumpWell

We have very hard thick clays around here and Mr Joe likes to get them done quickly. If you rotate too slowly you will develop a clay turd that can clogged the borehole and cause blowouts and many problems.
