A man gave me one of these when I was a child and I’ve been blowing into it and thought this was just a high pitched whistle. At 30 I stumbled across your video just now and realized I needed water and now my mysterious whistle is played properly. Playing it at 2AM in the morning. It’s so special you don’t understand.

I remember the bird whistle when I was a little girl. My dad had one . Looking to purchase . I'm 69 years young. 😁🎶🎶

The pot like whistle were selling like crazy here in Macedonia, especially when was Bazaar day. That was back in the 80's. I have seen one lately. Younger generations, 90's and later, don't have a clue what is it 😀

That was a great little video. I was talking to my friend about the bird ones that I had as a child. She had never seen them before. I didn't know that they were anything other than toys, I like that little red pot shaped one that you have.

Thank you again for sharing...I signed your guest book on the website. My students were bringing these for "Show and Tell" and I ran across a ceramic one yesterday at the shopping mall here in OKC. Love collecting and learning about instruments from around the world! (Ms. Goodhead, Elementary Music Teacher)

Where did you buy your red ceramic whistle and the transparent green one?

The red one was bought at an outdoor market. I think it was in Skopje in 1968, but it could have been somewhere else in Macedonia. The green one was bought in some trinket shop. I have absolutely no memory of where, but it was in the north east USA well over 50 years ago.
